Role Summary

As the Director of Digital Transformation, you will lead digital transformation and assist with the adoption of transformational thinking. You will provide strategic leadership and direction to ensure projects deliver desired outcomes, associated benefits, and enable digital transformation of legacy technologies and associated business models. You will establish appropriate Information Technology governance, associated prioritization framework(s) and a fit-for-purpose value-driven project methodology that can be applied to both technology and non-technology projects. As the Director of Digital Transformation, you will report directly to the VP of Information Services and works closely with the Senior Manager of Ecommerce Applications, Manager of Core Applications, Manager of Information Security and Infrastructure, and Manager of Service Desk.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement framework, methodologies, standards, processes, and tools to provide project portfolio and program management consistency
  • Develop and facilitate strategic technology portfolio management and governance: intakes, review, planning, prioritization meetings, etc.
  • Define and implement Key Performance Indicators for the measurement and reporting of projects and programs
  • Provide strategic advice to the senior and executive leadership regarding business solutions, and project portfolio management
  • Develop appropriate structures to effectively deliver complex, cross-functional, high-risk projects and programs that fall under the scope of responsibility of this role
  • Define and implement project delivery strategy, methodologies, standards, and tools, to reduce risks to budget, scope, timeline and benefits, as well as to provide consistency of project implementation
  • Develop and facilitate a robust Project/Program Reporting structure (including reports, dashboards, and other forms of communication) tailored for diverse audiences and various project steering committees
  • Execution of technology roadmap, enterprise initiatives and projects
  • Offer conceptual, logical, and data-driven reasoning, organize work effectively and provide leadership in challenging situations to ensure minimal interruptions to the execution
  • Oversee external partners and manage execution to ensure digital transformation projects are completed on time, within budget and achieve the overall benefits
  • Facilitate project management standardization and formalization of delivery/key artifacts
  • Facilitate change management, training, and adoption of the defined methodology by project managers from other departments
  • Lead Eminence Organics Information Services’ project portfolio and program management function to ensure that the organization’s strategic projects, programs, and prioritized initiatives are relevant, add value to the strategy of the organization and deliver anticipated benefits
  • Facilitate across the organization a consensus around adoption of standardized approach to project management methodology (status reporting, benefits tracking, issues and decisions tracking, project management tools, etc.)
  • Set up and enable forums to allow sharing of Project Management best practices and support growth and development of Project Managers (including assisting with PMP certifications)
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to Information Services Project Managers and Project Business Analysts

Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience leading a PMO or in a senior program delivery role with hands-on experience in leading a digital/business transformation initiative
  • Experience implementing a project management methodology and a background in multiple project delivery methodologies (i.e., Waterfall, Agile, SAFE, etc.)
  • University Degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related major
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP or Prince 2)
  • Certifications in Program Management (PgMP), Management of Project Portfolios (MoP), and Change
  • Management (CCMP, CM2) are considered assets
  • Knowledge and experience in change management and associated methodologies, techniques, processes, and approaches
  • Advanced knowledge of the Project Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK) and its application across varied project lifecycles
  • Proven collaborative approach in engaging and influencing stakeholders involved in the project delivery model
  • Effective negotiation, decision making and problem-resolution skills, with the ability to build relationships across varied stakeholder groups, external partners, and the executive
  • Exceptional interpersonal, leadership and communication skills as well as being approachable and visible throughout the organization. Proven abilities as a team builder, motivator, coach, and mentor
