Project Management Specialist, Site Services

(McClean Lake)

 

Reporting to the Site Services Projects & Planning Coordinator, the Project Management Specialist, Site Services role is to assist with the coordination of planning and construction management for projects within the Site Services Department. The incumbent will be involved with managing major earth-moving and facility improvement projects, from initial concept to completion.

 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Provide planning and construction management support for projects, modifications or capital requirements/replacements for the Site Services department
  • Develop and maintain department KPIs to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Responsible for the review of all civil-related engineering reports and studies relevant to projects at McClean Lake
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Site Services Projects Technicians
  • Work collectively with site groups to coordinate personnel and equipment requirements to support various projects
  • Review the continuing applicability of departmental quality procedures and work instructions, develop new or modify existing whenever necessary
  • Develop presentation material and facilitate safe work plans with for all non-routine project work
  • Prepare and coordinate design/change controls within the Site Services department
  • Fully proficient in data management and engineering design programs (AutoCAD C3D, Trimble Software)
  • Process survey data and produce AutoCAD drawings as required
  • Perform engineering calculations for miscellaneous projects
  • Embrace and support Operational Excellence efforts and culture

Skills and Qualifications for the position include:

  • University degree or college diploma in Mine/Civil/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of experience and training
  • 10+ years’ experience in heavy civil projects with significant surveying experience and/or knowledge
  • Project Management Professional certification is preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience with contract development and administration is required
  • Knowledge of accounting fundamentals and cost estimation is required
  • Knowledge and/or experience with the following are considered an advantage:
    • GPS surveying equipment and AutoCAD Civil3D
  • Mechanical HVAC heating and operating control systems
  • SAP
  • Surpac Software
  • Must be schedule driven and able to work independently under pressure and on a number of projects simultaneously
  • Organization and time management skills to coordinate efforts and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to work comfortably with numbers and pay exceptional attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively with a team

 

Work Location & Schedule: 

  • McClean Lake site
  • 14 days in and 14 days out rotating schedule
  • Normally an 11 hour work day, although some activity outside or normal working hours may be required

Fly Day- This position will fly in and fly out on Wednesday

 

Pick-Up Points: Saskatoon, Prince Albert, La Ronge, Buffalo Narrows and the designated communities in the Athabasca region of   Uranium City, Stony Rapids, Fond du Lac, and Wollaston.

 

As a condition of employment the successful candidate must complete Orano’s pre-employment checks including education verification and employment reference checks.
