What To Expect The Engineering Project Manager, Charging role entails active program coordination of all design and pre-construction phases of Tesla’s Charging sites, including construction feasibility, due diligence, site layout and design, electric service requests, equipment procurement, and securing entitlements. The ideal candidate has relevant experience managing infrastructure related projects of varying size and complexity in different regions and demonstrates a bias to action, supported by logical problem-solving skills with a reliance on a thorough understanding of project details. Finally, the ideal candidate should bring high energy and an optimistic approach to completing projects in a swift and quality manner. What You'll Do Manage all phases of feasibility, design, and pre-construction for charging sites; a key performance indicator is the number of sites brough to a construction ready status Facilitate field site visits to conduct due diligence related to constructability, design, utility servicing, and cost, providing site reports and preliminary sketches as needed Review site related project documents to assess construction viability Serve as the liaison with utility company personnel to determine the best interconnection point and to finalize design, service agreements, and easements Meet with zoning/permitting personnel to understand jurisdictional approval requirements and opportunities for timeline reduction, and represent Tesla's charging program at public meetings, tracking and managing status of all required approvals Hand off fully approved, permitted, and construction ready projects to Tesla’s construction team and provide RFI and design support as needed What You'll Bring Ability to travel (estimated 25-50%) required 2+ years project management, vendor management, and/or site development experience, preferably in EV installation, telecom, solar, or retail development with an Engineering degree or equivalent experience Working knowledge of electrical design drawings, electrical equipment, power integration and utility design processes, with advanced knowledge of site development procedures (regulatory and permitting processes) Established record of accomplishment managing and delivering multiple simultaneous projects ahead of schedule while adhering to the highest quality and standards Skilled in reading, understanding and redlining zoning and construction drawings, including utility designs and power distribution details; accountable to cost implications of construction design options and able to make cost-efficiency recommendations Aptitude in communicating and building relationships with property owners, local jurisdictions, utility companies, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project cycle Ability to function autonomously with a self-starter approach to challenging the status quo and eagerness to present innovative ideas that improve our: designs, processes, assemblies, costs, or the company Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Assurances dentaire, vision, vie, santé et invalidé payé par la compagnie REER avec contribution de l'employeur, plans d'achat d'actions pour les employés et autres avantages financiers Programme d'aide aux employés Programmes de réussite parentale Congés maladie et vacances (horaires flexibles pour les postes salariés) et jours fériés payés Programme Tesla Babies Produits Tesla, réductions sur les abonnements à des salles de sport et programme d'avantages sociaux Company-paid Health, Dental, Vision, Life, and Disability insurances RRSP with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Employee Assistance Program Parental Success Programs Sick and Vacation time, and Paid Holidays Tesla Babies program Tesla products, fitness discounts, and perks program Expected Compensation Technical Construction Project Manager - $87,400 - $131,100/annual salary Sr Technical Construction Project Manager - $95,000 - $142,500/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits for all levels Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
