Who we are…
The Aboriginal Relations Division of the Executive Council Office is the Yukon government's lead for the development and implementation of corporate policy and negotiated agreements with Yukon First Nations and transboundary Indigenous governments and groups, and strives to support the development of capacity within and positive relationships with our Indigenous partners. As one of three branches within the Division, the Policy and Consultation Branch provides corporate advice, analysis and recommendations to Yukon government departments and decision makers on issues related to Indigenous rights and interests, reconciliation, engagement and the legal duty to consult.
The opportunity…
The Policy and Consultation Branch is looking for a personable, motivated, and organized team member who approaches problem-solving collaboratively, respects diverse perspectives and demonstrates a commitment to professionalism through leadership, dedication and integrity. This position is responsible for researching, analyzing, interpreting, evaluating, developing and/or supporting the implementation of policies, programs, proposals, agreements, regulations and legislation on a wide variety of topics of mutual importance to the Yukon government and Indigenous governments and groups. The incumbent also provides advice, recommendations and briefings to senior management and decision makers and represents the division and department on various interdepartmental and intergovernmental forums.
