The position of Program Manager reports to the Director, Project Management. You are expected to devote your full-time efforts to the business of Paladin. This position may require some travel to other branches in Canada.

As our Program Manager, your top priority is to build strong and trusted relationships with our client, while driving and delivering a first-class construction and service program. You will work closely with our client and internal team to design, scope, and build highly complex integrated security systems and structured cabling infrastructure.

The successful candidate will be involved in program management, project management, service programs, design, quality management, client relationships, identification of opportunities, and will work closely with multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver various assignments on time and on budget for our client in North America


RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Demonstrating experience and expertise for the result of the programs underneath their responsibility. This stretches from the deployment of PMO best practices and methodology to create a program/project plan to fit the stakeholders’/clients’ needs and deliver within budget the desired outcomes.
  • Has the detailed knowledge at the project level to work alongside Project Managers to ensure interdependences are identified and solutions proposed while program risks are mitigated.
  • Working closely with senior stakeholders and team members, the Program Manager is ultimately responsible for defining the program/project scope and objectives to ensure program members understand what is expected of them and what they should expect from one another. This relationship is key for success in this role.
  • Prepares, maintains, and submits clear and concise activity/progress reports and time recording/management reports.
  • The Program Manager applies this proactive approach in routinely tracking the program members’ progress against their program commitments.
  • Co-ordinates, facilitates and communicates to all concerned parties the governance requirements such as program/project milestones, status updates, expense impacts as well as any existing or potential escalation issues.
  • Provides budget analysis, labour allocation and coordination of project activities that may be across functional areas within the organization.
  • Maintains hands-on control of the program through a process of regular program reviews, design reviews and audits, staff meetings, program meetings and the like.
  • Working closely with Service team to manage client’s Master Service Agreement for ongoing warranty and service post installation.
  • Works in partnership with National Account Executive team to manage client’s program and actively pursue all Business Development opportunities in North America.     
  • Identify and mitigate risk, working closely with the Account Executive team.
  • Travel to North American sites as needed.
  • Technical System knowledge is an asset for CCTV (Hanwha, Axis, Avigilon, Genetec and other vendors Access Control (Kantech, Genetec, and other vendors) & Data Cabling.
  • Perform other tasks as required.

Qualifications:

  • Previous and progressive experience as a Project or Program Manager in the integrated security and/or low voltage industry. We will consider applicants from other related industries (i.e. Telecommunications, Electrical)
  • Previous experience managing large construction projects preferred.
  • Experience delivering projects utilizing open-platform security solutions with integrated access control and video management systems.
  • Previous sales, estimating, or design experience is a bonus.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is considered an asset.
  • Post-secondary education from an engineering technology program (controls and instrumentation, electronics, electrical, etc.).
  • Experience in project planning, risk management, cost management and schedule management, and methods of analyzing and reporting project performance on financial and other KPIs.
  • Adaptability and flexibility including the ability to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity, and change.
  • Negotiating skills within a context of political sensitivity and conflicting interests.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and display a high level of adaptability/flexibility
