Description:

As part of its NORAD Modernization strategy, the Government of Canada intends to procure a Polar-Over-The-Horizon Radar which will be installed in the Northwest Territories. ATCO Frontec is seeking a Systems Engineer, contingent on ATCO winning this proposed project.

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for supporting all technical aspects related to the planning and execution of the work required to design, build, test and install the Polar Over-The- Horizon Radar. This position is hybrid; work can be completed both remotely and onsite.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Support the Systems Engineering Lead and stand in for the lead during absences.
  • Support the delivery of key documents such as the Traceability Matrix, Configuration Audits, and Readiness reviews.
  • Support all design reviews with customer, including the initial, preliminary and critical design reviews.
  • Delivery of required support documentation such as Operation Procedure Manuals, System User Manuals and Spare Parts.
  • Support all aspects of testing, including performing dry runs, readiness reviews, and reports following testing.
  • Support the installation of all technical equipment on site.
  • Ensure all project operations meet and comply with laws, regulations, health and safety legislation, regulations and corporate policies.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of five (5) years of engineering experience in the field of radiofrequency system engineering.
  • Undergraduate degree in a program specializing in the engineering, physics, science, or mathematics field.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of system engineering experience within the past ten (10) years focused in radiofrequency transmission and/or reception is preferred.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of scientific or engineering experience within the past ten (10) years in integration and development of radiofrequency transmission and/or reception platforms is preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain a federal government security clearance at the Secret level.
