Description:

As part of its NORAD Modernization strategy, the Government of Canada intends to procure a Polar-Over-The-Horizon Radar which will be installed in the Northwest Territories. ATCO Frontec is seeking a Project Manager, contingent on ATCO winning this proposed project.

The Project Manager will be responsible and authorized for planning and executing all aspects of work required to design, build, test and install the Polar Over-The- Horizon Radar.

This position is hybrid; work can be completed both remotely and onsite.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Responsible for the cost, schedule and performance of the project and will be the primary point of contact to the customer on all activities/issues related to the project.
  • Responsible for all documentation and plans required for the project, including a Project Management Plan, Work Breakdown Structures, Master Schedule and Risk Management Plan
  • Co-chair and attend all formal and informal meetings with the customer in order to review progress through the duration of the contract.
  • Resolve contractual statement of work issues and respond to contract amendments and new customer requirements.
  • Respond in a timely, flexible manner to customers' non-forecasted requirements and changes in scope.
  • Ensure all project operations meet and comply with laws, regulations, health and safety legislation, regulations and corporate policies.
  • Provide routine input and feedback on subcontracts and subcontracted documents, identifying any improvement in working, scope or clarity.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of project management experience, preferably in the field of Defence and/or Security Research and Development within the past 10 years.
  • Certificate, diploma, or degree in engineering, physics, science, mathematics, or project management field.
  • Strong customer relations, communications, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, prioritize, and evaluate the work of direct reports and contractors.
  • Must be able to obtain a federal government security clearance at the Secret level.
