Key activities:
Reporting to the Executive Director of Operations, the Manager, Security Services is responsible to
maintain a safe and secure environment for patrons, visitors, artists, staff, and contractors at the NAC.
As the Manager of Security Services, the incumbent is required to develop, implement, and monitor
protection services policies and procedures to ensure the safety of all. The incumbent is responsible for
developing and maintaining the Business Continuity Plan, and Emergency Preparedness Plans as well as
ensuring key senior management is well versed in these plans. The incumbent is responsible for all
security systems used at the NAC, will maintain a current knowledge in the fields of security and
emergency management, will update NAC requirements as necessary, and ensure a 24-hour operational
patrol on the NAC premises. Responsible for reporting incidents.
This work can occasionally result in stressful situations and the incumbent must have the ability to
manage these situations in a calm and professional manner. The Manager of Security Services must be
able to ensure confidentiality of information related to business practices as well as privacy of staff, artists
and patrons.
The incumbent is also responsible for hiring, training, and scheduling all the Security teams. They will
manage disciplinary matters and resolve conflicts as per the appropriate collective agreement.

Required qualifications:
• 5 years of directly related experience in a similar position;
• Fluently bilingual in both official languages;
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills in both official languages;
• The ability to write and prepare reports in a clear and concise manner;
• Ability to quickly Mobilize persons in emergency situations;
• Experience in dealing with emergency situations;
• Minimum 7 years of Corporate Security Experience;
• Active member in good standing within ASIS international and Security designations such as
CPP, CPO, IFCPP desirable;
• Valid First Aid and CPR certificates;
• Valid driver’s license;
• Extensive WHMIS knowledge;
• Workplace accidents management;
• Experience working in a unionized relations environment;
• Computer skills, including Microsoft suite;
• The ability to understand stress and anxiety; to cope with stress and maintain stamina;
• Management ability and experience;
• Knowledge of the latest emergency techniques and technologies in the industry;
• Extensive knowledge of evacuation procedures and security operations centre protocols;
• Approach complex problems with an open mind and use deductive and inductive reasoning skills.
