What you’ll do

It’s safe to say, there’s no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role:

  • Manages and directs new construction and renovation projects for parts of a large project or all of a small or medium sized project; with the potential of remote work in British Columbia or Alberta (Western region)
  • Responsible for development, implementation and administration of all assigned projects from inception to final completion, including all scheduling, Schedule “C” negotiations, drawing review and interpretation, preparation of scope of work, costs control, preparation of budgets, tracking and reconciling project expenditures and approval of payments
  • Responsible for managing site construction from the initial budget formulation to the store grand openings; working with Real Estate, Store Design, Store Operations to finalize the decision on selected sites and manage the construction phase of each store project including budgeting, bid process, scheduling and selection and management of all general contractors
  • Oversee all aspects of the construction to ensure project is delivered in accordance with company requirements; coordinating and rolling out project plans to all members of the project team for all assigned projects ensuring adherence to project plan, schedule and budgeted cost for projects
  • Participate in all pre-construction, and construction coordination meetings and ensure meeting agendas and minutes have been reviewed and approved; communicate project status to owners and stakeholders on a regular and timely basis; help to identify and select the project consultants and recommend the construction management contractors; partners with senior leadership to create project plans, building specifications and contract terms with third party contractors
  • Manages day to day operations of assigned projects including leading progress meetings and coordinating the work of multiple vendors/contractors; overseeing the day-to-day aspects of the construction project; monitors and coordinates work performed by architectural, engineering and construction firms; ensures compliance with project plans, building specifications, and third party contract terms; coordinates construction process to ensure compliance with federal, provincial and municipal regulations and codes

What you’ll need

To begin your career with us, we require the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, Project Management, and/or or equivalent related experience preferred; minimum High School Education/Trade School Graduate
  • 5 to 8 years previous work experience in Retail construction
  • Advanced knowledge of and ability to apply architectural/engineering principles to the design of Stores for multiple projects of varying degree of complexity, including knowledge of construction/building systems (i.e. HVAC, plumbing, electrical)
  • Demonstrated strong management skills including organizational skills; interviewing skills; negotiating skills, interpersonal skills including conflict management; and information gathering including active listening skills

Salary Range: $85,430 - $129,188*

*This represents the expected hiring range and may not represent the full pay range for the position. The salary offered may be higher than the posted range depending on several factors such as relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
