Job Summary

The Project Manager will coordinate a high volume of construction, renovation, and other facilities related projects. They manage relationships with contractors, Operation and clients, maintain project budgets and schedules, and ensure all projects are delivered to Client and safety standards.

Now, if you were to come on board as our Project Manager, we'd ask you to do the following for us:

  • Project Planning and Coordination:
    • Develop and implement project plans, including timelines and budgets.
    • Coordinate with Design department as well as architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
    • Collaborate with Operations and Clients to understand specific operational needs and incorporate them into construction plans.
  • Budget Management:
    • Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
    • Monitor and control expenses, providing regular updates to stakeholders on budget status.
  • Construction Oversight:
    • Supervise and manage construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
    • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
    • Conduct regular site visits to inspect work progress, quality, and adherence to specifications.
  • Communication and Reporting:
    • Address and resolve any issues or challenges that may arise during construction.
    • Maintain clear and effective communication channels between all project parties.
  • Quality Assurance:
    • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure the highest construction standards.
    • Conduct inspections and quality checks at various stages of the construction process.
  • Permitting and Compliance:
    • When required coordinate and facilitate the permitting process, ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained.
    • Stay informed about local building codes, zoning regulations, and other legal requirements.
    • Ensure agreed HSE & quality control and reporting procedures are correctly and fully understood and implemented.

  • A university degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, architecture, or project management (or an equivalent combination of academic and practical experience)
  • Minimum of 6+ years' experience managing/ coordinating construction/facility projects
  • Restaurant construction management experience an asset
  • Demonstrated ability leading large, complex capital projects.
  • Solid ability to influence and handle external resources in a highly matrixed environment
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards related to contract & construction projects.
  • Proficiency Microsoft Office 365, MS Project, Smartsheets and Visio programs
  • Able to travel to construction sites. Travel requirements up to 50% depending on project volumes and location.
