Salary: Our salaries generally range from $ 70354.2 to $ 87942.74 and are based on qualifications and experience.

About the role :


Join the Agreement Management Team in the Senior Officer, Operations position. In this role, you will effectively manage long-term housing agreements concluded between CMHC and our clients, including co-operative organizations and non-profit organizations. You will be responsible for supporting and providing good client service to help achieve corporate objectives.

This is a temporary position with a duration of 18 months.

What you'll do:

  • Undertake a variety of analysis and monitoring activities to ensure compliance and viability of housing projects receiving CMHC funding.
  • Analyze financial statements, budgets and conduct other activities to identify issues, potential problems and/or emerging trends in the housing portfolio.
  • Work with our various business lines on the sustainability of the housing portfolio and the creation of new units.
  • Provide support and recommend alternative solutions in line with our risk appetite to clients and stakeholders, including the communication of key decisions and the interpretation of policies.
  • Responsible for operational activities related to payment of subsidies, administration of loans and default management.
  • Maintain quality relationships with clients to understand their needs and objectives and explore opportunities to further housing outcomes.
  • Prepare a variety of reports, memorandums and communications to support decision making and a positive client experience.

What you should have:

  • A College degree in business administration or commerce, with a concentration in accounting, finance or property management.
  • An understanding of financial statements and ability to assess their viability.
  • An ability to interpret program guidelines to ensure that maximum flexibility is used in their implementation.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • An ability to persuade, influence and/or negotiate with others to gain acceptance of proposals or plans.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities and tight deadlines with an emphasis on producing quality results.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

It would be great if you also had:

  • A Chartered Professional Accountant designation.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous clients and/or non-profit and co-operative organizations.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous people culture, politics and history.
  • Knowledge of non-profit housing sector politics and history.
  • Knowledge of mortgage financing and social housing programs.
