The Part-Time Academic will be responsible for teaching INDG 3050: Indigenous Research Methods, an in-person class to be held on Tuesday/Thursday, 11:35am-12:55pm (Fall Term: September-December 2024) at the Studley Campus of Dalhousie University. Online delivery may be an option. This class is crosslisted with CANA 3050.

The Part-Time Academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the course, including preparing and delivering lectures, marking student assignments, development of course content on Brightspace, and submitting grades. In addition to course time, the instructor is required to hold two office hours per week for consultation with students. The instructor reports to the Indigenous Studies program Coordinator.
Qualifications/Requirements of Position
Applicants should have:
  • experience conducting community-based research with Indigenous peoples;
  • familiarity with Indigenous research methods;
  • familiarity with Chapter 9 of the Tri-Council Policy Statement on Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (2018).
We would also value:
  • a TCPS2 or similar certification;
  • training in Indigenous Studies;
  • familiarity with Mi'kmaw (L'nuwey) perspectives on research; and lived experience as a Mi'kmaw (or other Indigenous) person.
Salary Range/Pay Rate $6,478.00 (inclusive of 6% vacation pay and benefits) for the Fall 2024 semester, in accordance with CUPE Collective Agreement
