National Manager, Annual Giving

Are you a direct response fundraiser that is skilled in conceiving, creating and implementing engaging annual campaigns, and who wants to make a direct impact on raising funds to support JDRF’s mission?

We’re currently seeking a National Manager, Annual Giving to join our team and develop and lead JDRF’s annual giving programs. JDRF’s annual giving portfolio primarily includes monthly giving, planned giving and mid-level giving ($1000-$4,999), along with other one-time gift campaigns.

We’re looking for someone who excels at both strategy and execution, who has a strong affinity for utilizing digital channels for campaigns, and who understands the internal collaboration needed to be successful in these programs. Our ideal candidate will be bilingual in English and French to best meet the needs of our supporters across Canada.

Interested? In this position, you would have the opportunity to:

  • Lead and implement an annual giving plan for growing Annual Giving campaigns including but not limited to: one-time, mid-level and monthly gifts, leveraging existing strong digital channels by creating the donor journey and engagement plan for each campaign
  • Lead the growth of JDRF’s mid-level giving program, Beyond Insulin
  • Supervise and evaluate various fundraising channels (digital marketing, direct mail, telemarketing) to ensure the achievement of objectives, in addition to recommending changes as needed
  • Collaborate with regional teams to drive annual giving regionally
  • Develop a segmentation plan to target and solicit annual gifts, collaborating with the Marketing Communications team to execute smooth and successful campaigns
  • Track, monitor and report on annual giving campaigns providing insights to optimize giving
  • Manage a high-touch stewardship program for annual giving in collaboration with Stewardship colleague, acting as the point of contact for monthly donors
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to strategize on integrating annual giving into existing activities, content, website and social media channels
  • Manage the annual donor processes for renewals, lapsed reactivations and acquisition campaigns, as well as identifying prospects to move through the pipeline
  • Manage the channels in which new annual donors are acquired, ensuring all channels are optimized for the best donor experience and operational efficiency
  • Identify challenges that may impact achievement of fiscal targets through regular tracking and reporting of budgets and key performance indicators against goals
  • Assist with the development of compelling annual giving campaigns including but not limited to National Diabetes Awareness Month, Giving Tuesday, Year End and evergreen campaigns
  • Leads, coaches, and inspires team members through one-on-one supervision, development and overall team management.

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in managing and growing high-performing fundraising programs, including 2-3 years of experience in annual giving and university degree and study in a relevant field e.g. Fundraising, Marketing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in managing, coaching and developing team members
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, creative problem-solving and planning combined with exceptional organizational, attention-to-detail and project management skills
  • Expertise in reporting with a commitment to continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate online data, insights, trends and best practices; ability to focus or shift activities based on results
  • Strong skills in donor relationship management
  • Exceptional written communication skills with demonstrated storytelling capabilities
  • Ability to diagnose opportunities and propose solutions that meet the overall needs of the Foundation
  • An entrepreneurial thinker, comfortable with pursuing new opportunities and taking risks
  • Ability to work within a tight timeline and prioritize in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft office (PowerPoint, Excel) and understanding of fundraising platforms and CRM systems
  • Bilingual in French and English preferred

Salary for the new incumbent is anticipated to be within the range of $75,000-$85,000, commensurate with skills and experience in relation to the role requirements.

Location Preference: Anywhere within Canada – this position will work remotely from a home-office
