Description

Purpose:

  • To move forward with the supervision of the Corps Officer in integrating the Ministry of Corps/Church and Community Family Services.
  • Supervising and organizing events and activities with the support of others to aid in these two ministries working together effectively. Pastoral care for women attending church (Sunday mornings & Tuesday evenings) and other programs at Victoria Citadel.
  • Supervise and organize, working with volunteers for Next Step Resource Centre's Christmas Toy Shop and Angel Tree Sponsorship.

Hours: 40 hours per week

Temporary position: Maternity Leave coverage from June 3, 2024 to April 25, 2025

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and organize working together with others to bridge the gap between Church and Family Services. Coordinate, administrate all elements of Tuesday church with the Corps Officer, Next Steps Coordinator and Family Ministries Coordinator.
  • Lead, coordinate special events, bible studies for women and providing women's pastoral care as needed. Coordinate & participate with Next Steps Resource Centre for specific Christmas programs

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications And Education Requirements:

  • Willing to work within the mission and the Theology of the Salvation Army.
  • Community & service minded.
  • Developed strong people skills,
  • Post-secondary education
  • Drivers license

NOTE: An alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in leadership in a church setting and the ability to work with others in a team environment

Physical Capabilities:

Able to stand on feet for periods of time, work 7.5 -8 hours per shift, multi-task jobs, lift 10-15 lbs.
