As the Manager of Transformation, Change, and Communications, you will be at the forefront of driving Mitacs Enterprise Transformation (MET) portfolio towards achieving its strategic objectives. Reporting directly to the Director of Operational Excellence, this role is pivotal in orchestrating organizational change across people, processes, and technology to meet portfolio goals. Your primary focus will be on devising and executing change management and communication strategies, collaborating closely with specialists to ensure accelerated adoption, increased utilization, and enhanced proficiency, thereby driving tangible business results.

Responsibilities:


Strategic Portfolio and Leadership Engagement:

  • Develop comprehensive Transformation Change Management and Communication Strategies and tactical plans for the Portfolio's initiatives.
  • Take accountability for the Portfolio's communication strategy, encompassing both internal and external communication plans.
  • Define and analyze project-level change impacts to inform portfolio-level change impact assessments, working closely with organizational leaders and strategic partners.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, offering insights into effective change sponsorship and developing tailored change-related communications.
  • Foster strong relationships with Project Managers to align project-level change management plans with the Portfolio strategy.
  • Identify, monitor, and mitigate portfolio-level change and communication risks throughout the project life cycle.
  • Facilitate senior leadership discussions to gather stakeholder input and understand the organizational impacts of change.
  • Collaborate on portfolio and initiative interventions, engagements, and communications to drive effective change adoption.
  • Develop and implement metrics to track business readiness and adoption rates, adjusting strategies as necessary.
  • Design learning and development strategies to support the acquisition of necessary knowledge and skills for the future state.


Theme level Support:

  • Mentor and support theme leads in the development and execution of change plans.
  • Integrate Themes' key events into MET portfolio plans, identifying and addressing gaps, interdependencies, and risks.
  • Create communication, engagement, and training strategies aligned with critical theme elements.


Program and Project Level:

  • Guide Change Specialists in developing engagement and change management plans.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Change Specialists, program, and project leads.

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Resilient, proactive, and adaptable problem-solver, capable of managing ambiguity and multiple priorities.
  • Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in analyzing, organizing, and prioritizing work to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.


Experience and Education:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma (business or organizational psychology preferred).
  • 5-10 years of change management experience supporting large, complex, cross-functional business/IT transformation initiatives.
  • Accreditation/Certification in industry-recognized change methodology (e.g., Prosci, CCMP) or equivalent training and experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interface and facilitate effectively with diverse stakeholders.


Hiring Range: $105,120 - $124,830

Salary Range: $105,120 - $157,680

The salary range refers to the range of base salaries for a given position, encompassing the minimum and maximum amounts. Only in rare and exceptional circumstances, where a candidate has the experience, skills, and expertise that far exceed those required for the position, would we consider paying above the hiring range for this role.
