Job Description

Main Objective / Basic Function
Reporting to the SLS Toronto VP of Operations & functionally to the LGi VP Ops Deputy, the Global PPD is the Senior Industrial focal between the IPT & Operations. She/he is responsible for the continuous improvement of the Global structural Industrial performance for the B787 (Quality, Delivery, Costs) (For all sites / inter-sites) and is a key actor of the Global Industrial Strategy. The Global PPD is a Senior Manager with Leadership skills and acts as a level of escalation to the PPMs for the Program.

• The Global PPM Director is the Senior Industrial focal between the IPT & Operations and supported by all functions
• Escalates as needed to the IPT the major Industrial blockers where support of functions are needed & cascades the major IPT requirements impacting Global Industrial Operations
• Senior Industrial focal point with the Customer as required by Programs
• Understands, prioritizes industrial global critical activities within the IPT, especially with Eng. (cost reduction, manufacturability, design changes etc.)

• The Global PPM Director is responsible for the continuous improvement of the Global structural Industrial performance (delivery, quality) for the Program (For all sites / inter-sites for the Program) but not responsible or accountable for the Execution activities (Day to day activities)
• To achieve this goal, the Global PPM Director is responsible to:
o Collect, consolidate & assess the global risks and develop & evaluate risk mitigation plans,
o Manage complex and/or global OvRMs with high stakes during transfers
o In case on non-performance, ensure the action plan consistency and robustness
o Verify Manufacturing plans & Assembly plans are in line with the rules defined and ensure protection of the Program
o Source of proposal for buffering policy adjustments (Buffer Stock, Buffer Time, Production Plan buffer target)
o Propose evolutions to the Industrial Scheme based on the existing performance & risks
o Liaise with Program, propose protection plans to High & Low scenarios & associated Customer Logistics Conditions.
o Lead Global WHAT-IF scenario assessments

• The Global PPM Director is accountable for costs for the Production scope of work for the Programs:
o Frames the global MTP assumptions, defines the vision of the Industrial Scheme evolution and formalizes the risks to take into account
o Reviews and challenges global RTDI & rechargeable NRC budgets for Production
o Drumbeats cost saving activities for MAKE parts & lead Industrial teams to identify cost saving opportunities (Including MAKE part variance analysis)
o Empowered to propose Industrial Scheme evolutions for cost saving purposes.

Job Requirements

Skills & Core Competencies
Strong LG production knowledge, strong SLS process knowledge, Master MRPII processes
Good knowledge of ERP, Basic knowledge of Configuration management, Strong Procurement & Purchasing skills, Strong ability to drive recovery plans (Execution), Strong ability to build and communicate a vision, Proficient in managing budgets, financial skills, Project management, strong ability to manage deadlines and resources.

Education
A relevant University Degree (e.g. Supply Chain, Business, Engineering Technologist or Operations Management) and/or APICS, CSCP, CPIM, CIRM/PMAC Certification.

Work Experience
Ideally 10+ years experience in aerospace manufacturing, supply-chain management or high-tech environment (preferred International Aerospace experience) or in Mechanical Industrial Engineering; experience in leading Projects within multi-functional teams. Engineering technical background an asset.

Communication Skills
Internal: Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment, and embark teams, excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, ability to build strong rapport with different functions of the organization
