Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will be a part of the infrastructure & Transportation team, based in Calgary, AB office and have the opportunity to work on major municipality projects.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Provide detailed engineering design solutions and input on the design process for key complex projects, including providing support to Project Managers and other design team members
  • Write, sign and seal reports/drawings as required
  • Review project designs, specifications, and contract documents at a Project Manager’s direction
  • Monitor project schedule and budgets within your area of responsibility and report status to a Project Manager on a regular basis
  • Liaise with clients, municipal approving authorities and contractors, as needed
  • Pursue all necessary approvals and permits for projects, including those from municipalities and provincial agencies
  • Participate in business development efforts, including writing and pricing proposal efforts and securing new projects/clients, as needed
  • Coordinate design and field staff required for internal project teams, including directing, coordinating, and reviewing work done by staff
  • Ensure health and safety policies are adhered to at all sites and report to Manager and Joint Health and Safety Committee Members

What your experience looks like

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or eligibility for license/equivalent
  • University Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering (other disciplines will also be considered)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Municipal Infrastructure Industry
  • Have a strong working knowledge and extensive experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microstation
  • Strong attention to detail and quality of deliverables
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong desire to continue to learn about the Land Development Industry in Calgary
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent Organizational skills
  • The ability to work well under pressure while dealing with situations with tact
  • Demonstrated ability to perform individually or as a member of project teams
  • A valid driver's license and vehicle are required
  • Field Experience is an Asset
