The Role We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with strong technical expertise in mechanical or electrical building systems to support capital construction and retrofit projects, sitting at the intersection of construction delivery and building performance. Commissioning experience is considered a strong asset. Important: This opportunity is a 6-month contract engagement, offered on a consulting and/or fixed-term basis, and is not a permanent full-time employee position. What You’ll Do Lead and coordinate day-to-day project delivery on-site, ensuring strong outcomes across scope, schedule, budget, risk, and quality Act as a hands-on technical point of contact for mechanical or electrical systems, providing oversight during construction, systems integration, and closeout Coordinate closely with contractors, trades, design consultants, and commissioning agents to ensure systems are properly installed, tested, and verified against design intent Support commissioning activities and documentation as needed, helping ensure a smooth transition from construction to operational use Identify and manage project risks, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements Provide clear, concise reporting and recommendations to project leadership and client stakeholders Support close-out activities, deficiency resolution, and handover to operations What You’ll Bring 8–10+ years of project management experience within mechanical, electrical, or MEP-intensive construction or retrofit environments Strong technical grounding in mechanical or electrical building systems, gained through direct site-based construction experience Commissioning experience or exposure considered a strong asset Driven and client-focused, with strong technical capabilities, a sharp problem-solving mindset, and a consulting mentality that puts clients first Demonstrated ability to provide hands-on, on-site coordination during complex, fast-paced construction phases — calm under pressure and comfortable with ambiguity as priorities shift Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, including contractors, design consultants, and commissioning agents, with a collaborative, community-minded approach Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to translate technical information into clear updates for clients and stakeholders Strong organizational and documentation skills Ability to be on-site daily as required by project needs Existing Government of Canada security clearance (Reliability, Secret, or Top Secret) considered an asset What We Offer This is a 6-month contract position, with hourly compensation expected to be $90–$110 per hour.
