Job Description We're looking to add an Estimator/Project Manager to our growing team. This role blends estimating with hands-on project management, giving you the chance to see projects through from bid to completion. Prior experience is highly preferred but not necessary. The ideal candidate has some experience in construction project management, is organized, motivated, detail-oriented and driven. We use state-of-the-art takeoff, estimating, and project management software, so strong computer skills are required. Your experience will determine your starting pay. Responsibilities Estimating Communicate with customers to discuss new or current projects Ensure timely completion of all estimates Explore documentation to gain a deep understanding of project requirements Perform takeoffs from site plans Evaluate project spec book and other project documents Procure and evaluate vendor and sub-contractor prices Prepare detailed proposals for each job based on information provided Calculate, analyze, and adjust estimates Project Management Attend and participate in site walk throughs, pre-construction meetings, and progress meetings Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, vendors, and subcontractors once a project moves from estimate to construction Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring milestones and completion dates are met Cost tracking, procurement of materials and sub-contractors, reviewing contracts and contract documents, submittals, and change orders Coordinate field crews, equipment, and material deliveries to keep jobs on schedule and on budget Track project budgets against estimates and identify/communicate variances early Manage RFIs, submittals, and change order documentation throughout the life of a project Ensure job site compliance with safety and quality standards Build and maintain long-term relationships with key vendors and subcontractors Skills Critical thinker Impeccable problem-solving skills Experience with B2W Estimate for estimating and Trimble Business Center or InSite for takeoffs, is a plus but not necessary Effective communication skills Excellent organizational skills Numerical skills and an analytical mindset Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously from estimate through completion Requirements Valid driver’s license Ability to multi-task & meet strict deadlines Strong interpersonal and communication skills Good time-management In depth knowledge of project management Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test Attention to detail Must be self-motivated and willing to work a flexible schedule depending on what projects you are working on Must be personable and be able to work with customers and vendors with a professional and respectful manner The ability to read and decipher project plans and specs Must be proficient with computers and programs Experience with estimating and takeoff software is a plus. Requirements
Candidates must have strong computer proficiency, a valid driver's license, and the ability to read project plans and specifications. While entry-level candidates are considered, those applying as experienced estimators should have 5+ years of proven experience.
