For over 30 years, we have specialized in asphalt paving, concrete, civil infrastructure, landscape construction, underground work, and site improvements for private and public-sector clients. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Estimator / Project Manager to join our leadership team. This is a key role for an individual with strong estimating expertise and the proven ability to successfully manage civil infrastructure projects from tender to completion. About The Role Our ideal candidate is a seasoned construction professional with deep knowledge of estimating practices, cost control, and project management within the asphalt, concrete, civil, and site-servicing sectors. You are highly analytical, detail-oriented, and confident leading projects, communicating with clients, and driving results. You will take full ownership of the full-cycle bid process, project award, and execution, working closely with our Operations, Engineering, and Senior Management teams. Key Responsibilities Estimating & Tendering Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil infrastructure projects including asphalt paving, concrete, landscape construction, site works, road reconstruction, and related scopes. Conduct full quantity take-offs and interpret drawings, specifications, and addenda. Lead the end-to-end estimating and tender submission process, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and adherence to tender requirements. Obtain subcontractor and supplier pricing and evaluate quotes for inclusion in bids. Prepare RFI’s and liaise with clients/consultants for clarification during the tender stage. Build detailed cost summaries, lead sheets, production rates, and bid schedules. Project Management Manage awarded projects from start to finish, including scheduling, procurement, cost tracking, and contract administration. Attend site meetings, coordinate with Site Supervisors, and support field operations with pricing, scope interpretation, and cost control. Prepare and approve change orders, extra work orders, and progress billings. Maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost-to-complete reporting. Oversee subcontractor performance, materials ordering, and issue resolution. Ensure compliance with client expectations, contract requirements, safety policies, and project specifications. Leadership & Communication Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate with Senior Management to review bids, pricing strategies, and project performance. Provide mentorship to junior estimators and support continuous improvement in estimating processes. Qualifications 5+ years estimating experience in civil construction, roadbuilding, infrastructure, asphalt, concrete, or related fields. Project management experience managing civil projects from tender through completion. Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). Proficiency with Bid2Win (B2W), CostX, HeavyBid, or similar estimating software. Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; MS Project an asset. Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Valid Ontario driver’s licence.
