Are you passionate about Simulation based education? The Covenant Health Simulation Lead may be the right opportunity for you. Reporting to the Corporate Director of Professional Practice, Clinical Learning, Libraries and Student Placement the Simulation Lead works as a member of the interprofessional practice & clinical learning strategies team to coordinate and facilitate Clinical Simulation throughout Covenant Health (COV). In this role, the Simulation Lead applies their expertise in experiential education to support the direction and development of a comprehensive criterion-based framework for simulation education within COV. The Simulation Lead supports and mentors clinical experts/educators across the continuum of care by providing simulation expertise for the design, validation and evaluation of simulation curriculum, courses, and training that adhere to adult learning principles and quality outcomes. Along with other members of the team, the Simulation Lead will also develop, coordinate, and facilitate the provision of clinical education that supports Covenant Health’s Mission, Vision and Values. This Simulation Lead position acts as a resource for all of Covenant Health and will be involved in projects at all Covenant Health sites throughout the province as required by Corporate Clinical Learning Department. This position is non-unionized.

This position works with a high degree of independence and in collaboration with Clinical Operations to plan, implement and measure success in clinical simulation. The Simulation Lead will lead the design/development of simulation criteria and scenarios to support clinical skill development. They are also accountable for planning and coordinating special simulation education sessions such as conferences and workshops and promoting the award of continuing education credits for simulation education programs. The Simulation Lead is responsible for ensuring collaboration, consultation, and clear communication with all internal and external stakeholders for the development of project plans associated with clinical simulation and the tracking of project progress. This role will build relationships with key stakeholders to gain an awareness of the broad provincial simulation context in order to provide clinical simulation leadership throughout the organization. This position establishes and maintains positive relationships with key local and provincial representatives. This position is non-unionized.

Required Qualifications:
Required Qualifications: Baccalaureate in a Health Sciences discipline or education required. Minimum of 5 years experience as a Registered Health Professional required. Minimum of 2 years experience in an Educator position required. Ongoing involvement in/ supporting active clinical work across continuum of care. Experience in the provision of clinical education. Training and experience in the delivery of Simulation education or adult learning programs (such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, ATLS) required(experience in non-clinical adult education may be considered as equivalent).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Demonstrates innovation, flexibility and openness to new ideas and methods. A proven lifelong learner demonstrating discipline specific expertise that is rooted in best practice. Highly motivated, collaborative team player with a proven ability to foster and maintain partnerships. Strong organizational and conflict resolution skills. Ability to flex schedule as may be operationally required by the Organization as well as travel between sites. Competent computer skills, comfort with virtual meetings; high level of verbal and written communication skills using various approaches depending on the audience. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills and competent knowledge of Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate degree in health sciences or education preferred. Formal training in Simulation strongly preferred. Simulation Education delivery preferred. Experience with conducting research and publication of results.
