The Opportunity Marlin Spring is seeking an experienced and passionate Project Manager, Interior Design to join our growing and dynamic team in Toronto. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of thoughtfully designed, high-quality residential developments while contributing to one of the GTA's fastest-growing real estate organizations.

Reporting to the Director, Interior Design, the Project Manager, Interior Design will lead and manage the production of interior design working drawings, tender packages, and construction documentation for a portfolio of urban mid-rise and high-rise residential projects. The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise, exceptional project management skills, and a collaborative mindset, ensuring the seamless execution of projects from design development through construction.

Responsibilities: Lead and guide technical support staff to produce interior design working drawings for Marlin Spring’s development portfolio of mid-rise and high-rise projects including Permit, Tender and Construction packages Oversee and actively participate in the preparation of documentation in various stages of production including floor plans, building elevations & sections, details and schedules Assist in Coordinating our work with the work of other team members and internal or external consultant/engineering disciplines throughout the working drawing phase Effectively coordinate with local suppliers, project consultants, and internal/external team members to deliver project milestones Successfully collaborate with Design and Product Development team to ensure that new emerging design trends & intent, product innovation and sustainable design initiatives are maintained throughout working drawing and tender stages of our projects Collaborate early with the internal development team through the design process to achieve alignment with project requirements prior to commencement of working drawings Participate in project meetings with internal and external team members to flush out any problems early in the design stages of our projects Work energetically with the project team in developing solutions to technical detail problems in an effort to streamline the construction process Assist in the preparation of technical specifications to be used by our construction teams and trades Acting as an agent for Marling Spring, conduct site visits/field observations as required and report progress of construction Responsible for the management and tracking of site instructions and change orders on behalf of Marlin Spring Communicate in a clear, concise, professional manner, both verbally and in writing Maintain a collaborative professional working relationship with the project leadership team Complete work within assigned project budgets Meet project schedules and milestone deadlines

Key Attributes for Success: Ability to operate and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Vast experience with Permit, Tender and Construction documentation an asset Extremely detail oriented and able to produce both written and graphic work with a high level of technical accuracy and quality Must be able to clearly communicate spatial challenges and solutions both visually as well as in written and spoken forms Experience reviewing and writing technical specifications Demonstrated thoroughness and extreme attention to detail Strong time management and organizational skills Team collaboration and interpersonal skills Ability to work on multiple projects, prioritizing and meeting tight deadlines

Qualifications & Experience: Must have between 7 and 10 years relevant experience in a similar role or within an Interior Design firm (residential mid-rise and/or high-rise) Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Interior Design or equivalent Demonstrated experience in preparing technical drawing packages of interior spaces for mixed-use residential mid-rise and high-rise projects in Toronto and the GTA Proven experience leading and managing mid-rise and/or high-rise residential projects Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, municipal standards, building guidelines and ADA requirements Ability to apply accessibility codes, applicable building codes and life-safety codes to a wide variety of project scopes and complexities Strong leadership skills; ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage a technical team to meet project schedule and budget Experience working with the latest architectural software packages is expected, including experience with BIM – Revit Architecture, SketchUp and/or AutoCAD Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Site experience is an asset, but not a necessity Flexibility and adaptability to various changing dynamics and mandates Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong oral and written communication skills Strong documentation skills
