About the Role The Account Executive works to assist the Account Lead in managing our clients, the client work and spearheading the work with our internal team. The role is both account management and client services, and requires a ton of working with people—both internally and externally—as you will be coordinating with our clients, our partners, as well as with our agency team. You’ll support campaign execution, contribute to strategic discussions, and take on ownership of smaller accounts or projects in a way that achieves and exceeds client goals. Success in this role involves delivering high-quality results, proactively addressing challenges, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and internal teams.

On a day-to-day basis, the Account Executive is responsible for:

Account Management: Demonstrating proactivity on assigned tasks Day-to-day account management tasks (i.e. contact reports, status reports, production estimates) Developing timelines and workbacks, and maintaining internal and external oversight to ensure all moving pieces are up-to-date and on track Leading weekly internal and client status meetings Demonstrates understanding of overall campaign goals & a proficiency at the associated tasks Ensuring all presentations are reviewed and ready to be client/internal facing Summarizing client meetings and capturing/sharing client feedback for appropriate agency team members; distilling notes into action items accordingly Keeping internal/external status meetings on track, as well as maintaining and upkeeping our project management tools Managing a key portion of the accounts they’re assigned to, ensuring the day-to-day activities and projects are running smoothly Submitting invoices/hours and ensuring vendors & freelancers are paid on time Management of key financial accountabilities, including estimates, invoicing, and tracking project budgets

Strategic Thinking: Demonstrating a desire to understand the “why” behind tasks, projects, process, and other decisions Researching and outreaching to talent, vendors and suppliers and assisting with contracts

Collaboration & Relationships: Working to establish a trustful, professional relationship with all team members Responding and delivering Client and internal requests in a service-oriented manner Maintaining strong client relationships through frequent communication on project statuses and deliverables Acting as primary liaison between account services and internal departments and team members to see work through the development process - from the earliest concept stage, to final execution and delivery

Mentoring/Development: A commitment to continue to grow, learn and evolve your knowledge on client industries, competition, industry and marketing trends Being open and responsive to receiving and delivering feedback Asking questions when expectations may be unclear Demonstrating an eagerness to learn

Creative Championing: Collaborating internally to develop project briefs and present them to the internal teams Contributing thoughtful points of view on creative development Developing the ability to evaluate creative work and offering clear, actionable feedback Providing the creative team with the appropriate information as requested Championing client brand guidelines whilst reviewing creative

Skillful Communication: Expressing ideas clearly, succinctly and simply, both verbally and written Representing Academy in a professional manner to clients, partners and vendors Proactively managing their manager’s expectations on assignments and timelines Regularly checking for and responding promptly to all client communications

Leadership: Contributing to strong, trustful client relationships Working to build strong internal relationships across Strategy, Creative, Production & Operations Setting an example for the Account team and interns

Business Partnering: Contributing to competitive intelligence gathering Learning to proactively think and complete the work on time, on budget Contributing thoughtfully to all reporting, admin, and status docs/meetings

Experience, Skillsets, and Qualifications: 1–2 years in account management, client service, or project management roles in an agency setting Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field Strong understanding of content creation, digital marketing, and social media management Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently with exceptional attention to detail Familiarity with project management software, analytics tools, and social platforms Enthusiasm for learning and growing within a fast-paced agency environment

Salary: $60K - $65K CAD
