About the role

The Health and Safety Coordinator will work to further implement, maintain, and continuously improve preventive measures that will enable us to fulfill this organizational mission.

In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To

Actively participate in developing the organization’s safety strategy Promote a health and safety culture across all operations and coordinate prevention activities Coordinate various health and safety projects outlined in the strategic and operational plan Support the implementation and improvement of the existing prevention program Serve as the leader of the health and safety committee, participate in organizing the committee’s activities, and ensure that the committee’s recommendations, interventions, and actions are communicated Provide support during investigations and analyses of incidents to identify root causes, corrective actions, and follow-up measures Participate in the development and implementation of performance indicators Conduct, as part of a team, risk assessments of equipment and our operations, as well as ergonomic analyses, based on established priorities Support operations with health and safety training Active member of the Soucy companies’ inter-branch OHS committee

With the following skills and qualities, you will thrive in this role:

Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or a DEC in Environment, Occupational Health, and Safety, or any other relevant training At least 4 to 6 years of experience in a similar position at a manufacturing company Very good knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and standards Self-reliance; the candidate is able to take charge of entire projects and ensure their follow-through Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Ability to build and maintain good relationships with employees Strong cross-functional leadership and influence (collaboration with operations support teams) Strong planning and analytical skills, with a meticulous approach Effective time management and prioritization Results-oriented and focused on problem-solving
