Project and Advisory Services (PAS) is creating an inventory of Strategic Project Advisors. This inventory may be used to fill permanent, temporary, part-time, or secondment opportunities as needs arise.

This role provides opportunities to work on priority files across government, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
What you will do
The Strategic Project Advisor is an advisory and delivery role intended for professionals with a strong foundation in project-based work. The role is expected to independently manage complex files that are sensitive, or cross-government initiatives with oversight from senior staff.
Our team draws on a range of disciplines, including project management, change management, human-centered design, continuous improvement, and financial analysis. Hiring decisions are based on the needs of the team at the time. We are currently seeking individuals with strong knowledge and experience in Project Management and / or Continuous Improvement (Lean Six Sigma).
Your responsibilities will include:
- Work on complex cross-departmental projects that require agility and adaptability.
- Work closely with clients to define problems, clarify objectives, and develop practical approaches to project delivery.
- Facilitate client meetings, workshops, working sessions, and discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with client departments, project teams, senior leaders, and partners across government.
- Conduct research and analysis to provide recommendations for GNB decision makers.
- Prepare clear, concise, and evidence-informed advice to support decision making by project sponsors, executives, steering committees, and senior leaders.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading or supporting project management, continuous improvement, or related initiatives in complex and changing organizational environments.
- Experience providing clear, evidence-informed advice to senior leaders, including communicating risks, raising concerns, and professionally challenging proposed directions when required.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, exercise sound judgment in ambiguity, and demonstrate persistence and resilience in challenging situations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation, interpersonal, organizational, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to use office technology, software, and applications.
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered where a candidate does not meet the stated essential qualifications. For assessment purposes, graduate-level degrees may be recognized as equivalent to two years of experience, while doctoral or post-doctoral credentials may be recognized as equivalent to three years of experience.
Written and spoken competence in English and French is required for some positions. Other positions will require written and spoken competence in English only. Please state your language capability on your application and ensure that preferred language for assessment is identified on your resume.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference may be given to candidates with following asset qualifications:
- Training, certification, designation, or demonstrated experience in one or
more of the following areas:
- Project Management Professional certification, project management training, or equivalent project delivery experience.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or other process improvement training or certification.
- Change management training or certification, such as Prosci or equivalent experience.
- Experience using human-centered design, service design, innovation, facilitation, or design-thinking methods.
- Financial designations such as Chartered Professional Accountant designation, or post-secondary designations such as MBA.
- Experience supporting transformation, modernization, operational improvement, or service improvement initiatives in government, the public sector, or other complex service-delivery environments.
- Experience engaging and managing stakeholders in complex organizational settings.
- Experience identifying and applying artificial intelligence, automation, or emerging technology tools to improve analysis, project delivery, business processes, client service, decision support, or operational efficiency.
- Experience working with Microsoft Power Platform applications, including Power BI, Power Apps, Microsoft Forms, and/or Power Automate.

Salary:
Pay Band 6 - $78,546 to $104,494 per annum, based on experience.
