The Blueprint
The Scheduling Manager role is accountable and responsible for a wide range of project planning and scheduling process while working closely with the project team. This role will require a high degree of cross-departmental collaboration and will be responsible for supporting the full scheduling services within the portfolio of work.
A Glimpse of Your Daily Activities
Working directly with the Senior Director, Estimating and various project teams, you will be responsible for:
- Develop or assist in developing proposal schedules in detail and high level.
- Work with and manage the overall schedule development across various departments.
- Assure that all Schedules developed follow the Standard Project Coding Systems and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Activity Coding System, and Activity ID numbering System.
- Monitor and report critical path and schedule performance of projects. Assist with project schedule analysis and studies of problem areas to determine the criticality of the schedule.
- Review the completion dates for project milestones for projects or major portions of projects. Communicate and provide feedback on delays and variances from baseline.
- Perform project progress updates and revisions in Primavera P6
- Provide timely, informed, and up-to-date project schedule information including trends and forecasts as well as progress, schedule, and planning input to the weekly, bi-weekly and monthly project reports.
- Working closely with the Project teams to align project schedules with baseline schedules for all activities, identify trends, and schedule impacts.
The Architect of Your Success
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
- 10+ years of construction experience with a focus on overseeing project development and scheduling, residential high-rise preferred
- Strong proficiency in using scheduling tools, such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
- Knowledge of construction, scheduling, procedures, project plans and specification reading are required.
- Ability to schedule and track multiple projects from concept to completion.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, analyzing and maintaining complex project schedules.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for productivity analysis and identifying schedule-related issues,
- Excellent communication skills for conveying schedule information effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong ability to prioritize and plan with a high attention to detail.
- Experience working on large-scale engineering and/or construction projects would be considered an asset.
Nice to Have
- Certifications in advanced features of scheduling tools like Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project, showcasing expertise in utilizing these tools to their full potential.
- Possession of a recognized project management certification, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
