Who are you?

Turner & Townsend is seeking a Director / Associate Director – Transmission Estimating to lead the development of a best-in-class estimating capability within our Energy & Natural Resources division.

This is a leadership role focused on building and scaling a standardized estimating framework to support major transmission and grid infrastructure programs across North America as part of the energy transition.

Job Description

As the Transmission Estimating Lead you will be involved in:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a standardized estimating framework across transmission and utility programs

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing estimating team

  • Provide strategic oversight for cost planning, benchmarking, and estimate assurance

  • Drive integration between estimating, project controls, and commercial governance

  • Establish best-in-class estimating practices, including Basis of Estimate (BoE), cost benchmarking, and data governance

  • Act as a senior advisor to clients on cost strategy, risk, and investment decisions

  • Support business growth through client engagement, pursuits, and thought leadership

Qualifications

  • 12–15+ years’ experience in estimating within transmission, power, or major infrastructure projects

  • Strong expertise in:

    • Transmission lines (overhead/underground HV systems, towers, line systems)
    • Substations and switchyards (transformers, breakers, protection & control)
  • Proven experience building or transforming estimating functions and frameworks

  • Strong understanding of CAPEX project delivery, stage-gate estimating, and cost classifications (Class 5 Class 1)

  • Experience integrating estimating with project controls and risk management

  • Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and commercial acumen

The base salary range for this full-time role is $140,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only, not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on candidate’s experience and qualifications.
