The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to join our team. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of complex underground construction projects. You will manage multimillion-dollar initiatives from inception through closeout, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, work breakdown structures, and critical path schedules.
• Oversee project teams, including superintendents, foremen, engineers, and subcontractors; provide leadership, mentorship, and performance management.
• Ensure strict compliance with health & safety regulations, environmental requirements, and company policies; champion a zero-incident culture.
• Manage client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact to deliver exceptional service and secure repeat business.
• Coordinate with our in-house geotechnical engineering team for design input, value engineering, and problem-solving.
• Monitor project financial performance, control costs, approve invoices, and prepare progress claims and forecasts.
• Procure materials, equipment, and subcontracted services; negotiate terms and manage vendor/subcontractor performance.
• Identify, mitigate, and resolve project risks, issues, and change orders effectively.
• Prepare high-quality project reports, documentation, and as-built records for internal and client use.
• Support business development by participating in estimating, tender preparation, and client presentations as required.
• Travel to project sites across Canada as needed

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years of progressive project management experience in heavy civil, underground utility, or trenchless construction.
• Education: Post-secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field. PMP certification or equivalent is considered an asset.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of trenchless technologies, geotechnical considerations, pipeline installation, permitting processes, and relevant construction methodologies.
• Skills: Proven ability to manage large budgets and complex schedules. Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with project management software.
• Other: Valid driver?s license and willingness to travel. Ability to work in varying site conditions and remote locations. Strong commitment to safety and quality.
