Role Description The Site Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in Quesnel, BC, responsible for overseeing daily construction activities and site operations. This role includes coordinating crews and subcontractors, scheduling work, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with specifications and safety standards. The Site Superintendent monitors site progress, addresses issues as they arise, and maintains clear communication with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders. Typical duties include conducting site meetings, enforcing safety and quality control procedures, managing materials and equipment, and maintaining accurate documentation and reports. This position requires strong leadership on-site, proactive problem-solving, and consistent presence at the project location. Qualifications Demonstrated experience supervising civil construction projects, preferably in municipal, industrial, or mining environments. Strong knowledge of construction methods, site logistics, and reading/interpreting drawings and specifications. Proven ability to lead field crews, coordinate subcontractors, and foster a respectful, safety-focused work environment. Experience with construction scheduling, progress tracking, and basic project documentation and reporting. Solid understanding of occupational health and safety regulations and best practices on construction sites. Effective communication skills for interacting with project managers, clients, consultants, and other stakeholders. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in the field. Proficiency with basic computer applications and mobile tools used for site reporting and communication. Relevant technical diploma, trade certification, or equivalent construction supervisory experience is an asset. Valid driver’s license and ability to work full-time on-site in Quesnel, BC.
