They will report to the Group Logistics Manager and coordinate with the Safety Manager to train new hires and keep existing employees current on required training. Essential Functions Contribute to meeting site productivity and quality goals by administering on the job training and powered industrial truck (PIT) training to all new and existing employees including cross training as needed. Update and maintain various existing training documents and help create new training documents for various departments and job functions. Complete Human Resource paperwork and other administrative tasks as assigned. Coordinate department activities and special projects to ensure quality and meet timetables. Coordinate with Group Manager Logistics for appropriate staffing levels Direct staff in the development, analysis and performance of job task. Supervise staff in accordance with company policies and procedures. Assist staff to resolve complex or out of policy operation problems. Conduct interviews, hire new staff and provide employee orientation. Coach and provide career development advice to staff. Responsible for staff scheduling to include work assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignments, back-up for absent employees. Perform standard work audits with new and existing employees to ensure adherence to process. Responsible to coordinate safety activities for the site by working with Safety Manager to ensure safety training is current including OSHA and forklift training. Additional Responsibilities Evaluate department processes. Recommend and coordinate needed changes based on process analysis Establish employee goals and conduct employee performance reviews Communicate with other Supervisors and Managers Performs other duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities Strong verbal and written communication skills, Required Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)., Required Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, Required Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment, Required Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills, Required Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices, Required Important Note: Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
