Lycopodium is currently recruiting for a Lead Site Planner to join our growing project team in Prince George, BC.

The Lead Planner is responsible for establishing and maintaining the Project Schedule and to lead the management and reporting on project activities in a timely and consistently accurate manner.

The tasks you'll perform

Lead and manage the Planning and Scheduling team to ensure that their outputs are up to a high standard in line with Company, Client, regulatory and contractual requirements. Support relevant Manager to ensure the Project Schedules are put in place and maintained and that they provide quality up-to-date data to assist with the management of project activities. Adopt and follow the various work procedures, practices, and plans of the project controls team to ensure deliverables are met to a high-level of accuracy. Ensure all dealings with Client, Vendors and other external stakeholders are professional and in line with ethos of the business. Creation, implementation and maintenance of Project Schedule Coordination of Project Reporting in accordance with Company, Client, regulatory and contractual requirements. Coordination of the Project Planning Team’s daily and weekly tasks. Manage and coordinate inputs from various team members including engineering, procurement, contracts, project and construction in order to establish a highly accurate and detailed Project Schedule. Provide leadership and manage planners as applicable. Identify the Project critical path and immediately flag any actual or potential changes to the critical Path. Attend project controls team meetings and follow guidance and goals for the coming week and beyond. Regular communication with the relevant Manager and provide regular reports, updates and feedback. Assist the relevant Manager with providing input required for the compilation and submission of the project progress report monthly or as required by the contract. Encourage and build a positive workplace culture and team environment. Advise the relevant Manager immediately of any safety or environmental, community or industrial relations incidents as per approved Company policy and procedures. Maintain all inventory files and official paperwork related to site activities. Register and file all relevant documentation in accordance to the Company approved procedures. Develop and contribute to the delivery of improvement initiatives within construction team which support business’ continuous improvement. Contribute to junior team member’s professional development by providing consistent mentoring and identify avenues of development.

The expertise you'll bring

Technical Certificate/Tertiary Education Qualification, Degree or Diploma in Planning and Scheduling is desired or equivalent industry experience. Minimum 10+ years in planning and scheduling within minerals and or related industries. Ability to establish Project Schedules from first principals based upon previous experience and personal knowledge in the mineral processing industry with minimal assistance from other senior staff Ability to establish the schedule including resources, logic sequence and duration of each phase of the project including engineering, procurement, manufacturing, transport, construction and commissioning. Ability to forecast and assess trends for accurate schedule maintenance and to provide information that assists with project management goals. Ability to prepare detailed shutdown and tie-in planning. Ability to meet schedule update and reporting targets. Strong background, training and awareness of statutory and industry standards in OHSE, IR and HR. High attention to detail. Managerial-leadership ability. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Build and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders, including clients, vendors and co-workers. Ability to work with people at all levels within an organisation and external providers. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise to a high standard of accuracy and professionalism. Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision whilst consistently producing a high quality of deliverables. Personal qualities of integrity, credibility and commitment. Demonstrate a strict practice of confidentiality, personal responsibility and discretion. Provide mentoring and identify avenues of professional development.
