About the Role We’re seeking a Coordinator, Community Fundraising & Events to support our Fund Development department. The Coordinator will support the Community Fundraising & Events Officer in achieving revenue and participation goals. Reporting to the Manager, Community Fundraising & Events, the Coordinator, Community Fundraising & Events will be responsible for logistic coordination. The will manage and lead the logistics for our annual golf tournaments and other events. The Coordinator will be the frontline contact for Diabetes Canada and will be required to: Lead the two (2) annual Golf Events, Stick it to Diabetes Program and other potential events Work with vendors, sponsors, volunteers and event participants Provides administrative support to the portfolio Working with Coordinators across DC to ensure business practices are followed Assist with management and organization of fundraising events Contract Duration: 6-Month Contract Location: Our National Office is located at 1000–170 University Avenue, Toronto, Ontario. We offer a flexible work arrangement, allowing employees to work remotely or hybrid; with occasional expectation to be on-site for team meetings, event coordination, and event attendance. The successful candidate must reside in the GTA. Note: For this role, a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required. Compensation: The hiring salary range for this role is $ 62,000 - $64,000 annually, depending on skills and experience with meeting the requirements of the role. What You’ll Do Revenue Generation Support Support the team in meeting or exceeding annual fundraising goals by assisting the execution of various fundraising events and programs in alignment with regional and national plans. Work with team members to identify and maximize event revenue generation opportunities e.g., ticket sales, silent auctions, raffles, table sales, teams, golf foursomes, etc. Work with team members on the solicitation and follow up with sponsors and other event participants. Coordinating two (2) annual Golf Tournament Events and our annual Stick it to Diabetes Program Work on growing the events portfolio by seeking growth and other creative revenue opportunities Event Support Work with team members to identify, steward, and develop implementation plans to carry out at Special Events at the local level. Provide support for the marketing strategy and implementation for Special Events and partnerships. Identify possible sponsors for Signature Events and Peer to Peer Fundraising as well as move management opportunities. Responsible for event administration, database management and financial reconciliation in partnership with other Coordinators across the Fund Development team. Complete impact reports and event summaries for all events. Management and track inventory of all event supplies at our storage unit. Note: This role is not limited to the responsibilities listed above and may include other duties as required. What You Bring Post-secondary education in a relevant program or equivalent experience 1 -2 years work experience in fundraising, sales, event coordination, marketing and/or not-for-profit Demonstrated experience working on special events and working with volunteers Experience with email marketing, social media and with tools such as Canva. Strong communication skills Experience with digital technology Achievement-oriented; a goal-setter Highly organized with strong attention to detail Flexible and responsive Collaborative relationship-builder Computer proficiency including experience with social media Working Conditions: Occasional evening and weekend work The role is expected to travel to attend events Candidate must have a valid driver's license and vehicle Why Join Us?
