Professional Education Manager - Canada (Hybrid - Ontario, Canada)

Job Summary The Professional Education Manager leads the development and execution of Insulet’s Canadian HCP education strategy, driving awareness, knowledge, and adoption of automated insulin delivery systems—particularly Omnipod 5. This role combines strategic ownership with hands-on execution, designing and delivering omnichannel educational programs that support clinicians from initial awareness through product adoption and optimization. As a key cross-functional leader, the individual collaborates with Sales, Clinical, Marketing, Market Access, and global teams to align education initiatives with business objectives, while building strong relationships with healthcare professionals and thought leaders. With a focus on innovation, scientific excellence, and measurable impact, this role plays a critical part in advancing diabetes care and improving patient outcomes across Canada. The Professional Education Manager is accountable to successfully establish the Health Care Professional (HCP) education strategy and tactics, and to deliver the related plans, for Canada. The educational activities are directly applicable to clinical practice with goals to enhance HCP awareness, knowledge, and confidence in safely and effectively initiating, onboarding and optimizing patients on Automated Insulin Delivery Systems with a focus on Omnipod 5. These educational activities should also improve the understanding of the place and benefits of AID in the treatment pathway for diabetes, drive efficiency and successful outcomes in delivering clinical care, and drive adoption of hybrid closed loop systems for people with diabetes as per local guidelines. The medical education plan is expected to provide a comprehensive blended education offering to Health Care Professionals using an omni-channel approach (digital, in-person, and via partners), including educational programs developed in partnerships with key scientific and professional organizations. Key responsibilities of the position include strategy and tactics, development of content of training and education programs, assessment of the performance of programs within the pathway, and direct involvement in the delivery of certain trainings. This individual deploys strategic thinking, leads and coordinates a cross-functional team together with internal clinical training, sales, marketing, and market access from the Canadian organization to establish the HCP education strategy that meets the business objectives and needs, and to efficiently deliver and execute on the plans, with high-quality standards and scientific excellence. They will have and maintain an in-depth understanding of diabetes, the current and future treatment landscape, along with ongoing clinical research with a focus on the diabetes device market. Only candidates living within commuting distance from the Oakville, Ontario office will be considered Key Accountabilities: Leads the development and the implementation of the Canadian HCP Education strategy and tactics aligned to commercial business priorities and corporate strategy. Works with Sales, clinical training, Marketing and Market Access teams to identify HCP education learning needs and priorities. Designs and facilitates development of customized medical education programs to support healthcare professionals in their learning pathway from awareness to product adoption. Innovates medical education delivery models to meet the changing customer needs and expectations for industry-led education, ensuring a comprehensive omnichannel approach to deliver on related educational offering (online, in person, learning managements system) Builds effective training and skills-based peer-to-peer medical education programs that are aligned with corporate and product marketing strategy. Delivers some of these training programs. Develops, fosters, and maintains relationships with HCP’s and thought leaders in the field of Diabetes technology and education across the healthcare continuum. Disseminates scientific data for the purpose of generating insights that will shape future educational strategy and approaches to HCP education. Partners with external parties, including scientific and professional organizations to determine HCP education learning needs and collaborate on delivering HCP education programs. Collaborate on content development with the Internal clinical training programs and occasionally delivers some of these trainings directed at sales and field teams. Supports the execution of symposiums at national and international congresses. Assures and supports the logistics related to MedEd courses including registrations, course information and post-course evaluation data analysis and reporting. Measures, tracks and reports impact of MedEd programs. Creates and updates education content that reflects on-label, evidence based, best-practice use of Insulet products. Ensures that Medical Education activities are always conducted in a compliant manner by working closely with the local compliance officer. Contributes actively to the Global and International Medical Affairs teams and cross-functional product launch planning teams. Develops and maintains a thorough and detailed working knowledge of the organization and its products, current scientific research, and publications. Performs other duties as required. Experience with PowerPoint/other presentation software to develop innovative, impactful presentations and learning content. Understanding of the regional medical practice and clinical decision-making regarding patient care Knowledge of the medical device industry, including relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards which apply to interactions with HCPs, payers, and industry representatives Understanding of the diabetes disease state, diabetes clinical decision making, the current/future treatment landscape, guidelines recommendations, and ongoing clinical trials/research is an asset.
