This role plays a critical execution function in building stable, scalable production systems through standardized work, time studies, root cause analysis, and structured documentation.
The ideal candidate brings a strong operational excellence mindset, thrives in fast-paced production environments, and is comfortable working directly on the floor to identify inefficiencies and drive measurable performance improvements. This role will partner cross-functionally with operations, production, and leadership teams to support throughput, quality, labor optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
What you'll do:
In this role, you will conduct standardized work audits while maintaining SOP documentation and visual management tools to support operational consistency and scalability. You will perform time studies to validate cycle times, develop labor standards, and optimize labor allocation across production areas. The Continuous Improvement Sr. Specialist will lead root cause analysis and structured problem-solving initiatives to address throughput gaps, defect trends, and operational inefficiencies while driving Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to improve overall performance.
You will support improvements in WIP flow, staging logic, yard movement, and visual management systems while simplifying and training associates on Lean concepts and continuous improvement methodologies. Additionally, you will contribute to resource planning and CapEx justification through detailed cost-benefit analysis and operational reporting. The role will also focus on strengthening defect identification processes, rework tracking, and cross-functional quality feedback loops while developing KPI frameworks around throughput, cycle time, First Pass Yield, WIP, and operational performance metrics.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations, or related field preferred
- 2–5+ years of experience in manufacturing, automotive, production, or high-throughput operational environments
- Strong foundation in Lean principles, standardized work, time studies, root cause analysis, and process mapping

- Experience conducting time studies and developing labor models highly desirable
- Advanced spreadsheet and data analysis capabilities with the ability to interpret operational metrics and trends
- Extensive understanding of ergonomics principles and health & safety standards
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and process-driven mindset
- Strong observational, documentation, and reporting skills
- Comfortable working directly on the production floor in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across all organizational levels
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and continuous improvement capabilities
