Position Status: Permanent Full-Time Available: Immediately Description of the Position: The Manager, Events Logistics is responsible for developing, leading and executing the event day participant/guest experience and logistics strategy for SickKids Signature Events. In this role the Manager will have multiple direct report. The Manager, Events Logistics will ensure the delivery of compelling event experiences which drive revenue and culminate in donor loyalty and stakeholder satisfaction, while controlling costs and managing the project from start to finish.

You will:

  • Develop and manage the overall logistical design and execution for current and new signature events with a focus on delivering flawless event experiences for all attendees;
  • Project manage the events including, providing event core leads timely status updates, risk management, management of logistical tactics, event execution and post-event reconciliation;
  • Build and manage critical paths and work back schedules for signature events and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely delivery of deliverables;
  • Develop and manage event expense budgets which includes providing budgetary recommendations and identifying costs saving opportunities;
  • Negotiates with supplier/vendors on best possible pricing, terms and values, to ensure events are delivered at or below budget, while maintaining best in class event experience;
  • Collaborate closely with corporate team to ensure all sponsor deliverables and expectations are met through the event experience;
  • Build meaningful and effective relationships with vendors, committee members, volunteers and sponsors and provides excellent customer service at all times;
  • Employ creative industry trends and innovation to ensure the participant/guest experience is meaningful and relevant to the needs of the participant, organization and other stakeholders as involved;
  • Support the management of the volunteer program by supporting the Associate, Event Services to lead the training and onboarding of volunteers to ensure seamless event execution and participant/guest satisfaction;
  • Lead the onsite execution of all event logistics including event set-up, event day and post-event tear down while ensuring a seamless execution of events;
  • Identify and capitalize on new avenues to broaden networks and establish relationships with potential vendors/suppliers in order to enhance the event experience and/or reduce costs.

Qualifications: While we know that for any job posting no one candidate will possess the qualifications being sought in equal measure, below is an outline of the qualifications we believe are important for a candidate to bring to the position or for the successful candidate to develop while in the role:

  • 5-7 years of experience in executing large scale multifaced events;
  • Volunteer and People Management;
  • Leadership skills;
  • Project Management skills;
  • Relationship Management skills;
  • Fully competent in suite of Microsoft Office products;
  • Exceptional Customer service skills;
  • Current knowledge of the best practices in event management field;
  • Superior verbal and written skills, public speaking;
  • Negotiation skills;
  • Delegation skills.

Total Compensation Package: Hiring Salary Range: $82,064.00 – $102,582.00; with the ability to progress to a maximum of $117,971.00. To ensure fair and equitable pay at SickKids Foundation, placement on the salary range will be based on your years of experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the Manager, Events Logistics.
