The Role: Foreman, Landscape Construction

While we provide the environment, we need you to provide the expertise. In this role, you will be the primary architect of on-site execution and installation quality, leading your crew to transform technical drawings into stunning residential and commercial landscapes.

Your Daily Impact:

  • Technical Leadership: Lead and work alongside your crew to execute complex scopes, including precision hardscape installation, final grading, and the construction of technical water features or pool environments.
  • Drawing Interpretation: Translate blueprints, specifications, and elevation requirements into executable tasks, ensuring drainage and layout accuracy are achieved in real-time.
  • Quality Stewardship: Conduct ongoing site inspections to identify and correct deficiencies immediately, ensuring the final product is ready for client turnover and municipal inspection.
  • Resource Coordination: Manage the staging of materials and the daily maintenance of equipment, while tracking labor hours and production progress against the project budget.
  • Safety Advocacy: Enforce a "safety-first" culture by conducting daily tailgate meetings, performing hazard assessments, and ensuring the absolute compliance of your crew with OH&S regulations.
  • Winter Versatility: Transition to comprehensive snow and ice management from November through April, maintaining a flexible schedule to ensure client safety during Alberta’s winter months.

The Essentials for Growth (KSAs)

To truly thrive in this role, you’ll need a solid foundation of skills and the right mindset:

  • **Knowledge:**Expert-level understanding of grading, drainage, and construction standards; strong ability to read and interpret complex landscape drawings and specifications.
  • Skills: Proficient operation of landscape construction equipment; expertise in multi-scope installations (hardscape, softscape, and water features); proficiency with digital job tracking systems.
  • Abilities: Minimum of three years of landscape construction experience with demonstrated crew leadership; valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License; physical stamina for demanding outdoor manual labor.
