WORKING ENVIRONMENT All employees are under the strategic direction of the Freestyle Canada CEO, the COO and the Human Resource policies. The Coordinator, Sport Development reports to the Director, Sport Development and works closely with the Manager, Sport Development and Director, Events on day-to-day priorities and project delivery. The Coordinator will work in a daily team environment with the Freestyle Canada Provincial / Territorial Sport Organizations, Media Relations and Membership Services and event local organizing committees during the competition season.

THE POSITION & SCOPE The Coordinator will provide administrative, operational, and project support to the Sport Development department, contributing to the successful delivery of competitions, programs, coach and club resources, and organizational initiatives. This role requires a highly organized, proactive individual who can manage multiple priorities while supporting a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Day-to-Day, Administrative Tasks: Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to the Sport Development team; the Director, the Manager and the Director of Events. Coordinate logistics for Sport Development activities ,and meetings. Club Support: collaborate with staff, volunteers, coaches, clubs, to support the successful delivery of programs, resources and services. Assist in the development, organization, and maintenance of club, coach, and athlete resources which include the Freestyle Canada App central management system. Update and maintain Sport Development filing systems, documents and shared digital resources to ensure information is current, organized, and accessible. Assist with the development, formatting, and distribution of Sport Development resources, reports, presentations, and communications.

Support the creation and distribution of Sport Development content across digital communication platforms. Support website content updates and maintenance. Support database management, including The Locker and Uplifter platforms. Provide coordination and administrative support for current and emerging Sport Development projects and strategic initiatives. Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance resource management, and increase operational efficiency. Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Sport Development department and Freestyle Canada's strategic priorities.

Competition / Event Support, as directed by the director of events Coordinate logistics and provide on-site support for Sport Development activities, local organising committee meetings, competitions, with increased involvement during the peak season (November–March), including occasional evenings and weekends. Coordinate officials and judges assignments Travel logistics for event staff On-site support at competitions Ranking data entry Collaborate with the Freestyle Canada Marketing and Media staff for media communications.

*As this position is a new one for Freestyle Canada, tasks and responsibilities may evolve. GENERAL WORK EXPECTATIONS Full-time position with flexibility to accommodate seasonal workload demands. Peak event season occurs from November through March, during which travel, evening, and weekend work will be required and may account for approximately 15 – 25% of the annual work time Time in lieu will be provided in accordance with organizational policies. Ability to work independently in a remote home office. Where challenges exist, solution-based thinking is prevalent.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING This role is ideal for an organizaed and proactive indivudal who is passionate about freestyle skiing and enjoys supporting clubs and events across Canada. Education and Experience Post-secondary education or equivalent experiences in Sport Management, Recreation, Business Administration, Event Management, Coaching, Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is considered an asset. Strong understanding of the long-term athlete development pathway Experience working within freestyle skiing The successful candidate will be required to complete a vulnerable sector check. Proficient in Google, Office365, Canva, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube and other applications as needed. Valid driver’s license

Experience in managing and planning logistics, Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset, High level of emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity, Confidence and familiarity in the different Freestyle environments, Work positively in a team environment as well as motivated to get work done individually, Strong problem-solving skills, Exceptional interpersonal skills with proven ability to establish rapport with people. Comfortable skiing and working on snow-covered terrain and ski hills in varying weather conditions.
