We currently have an opportunity for a full-time Retail Operations Manager to join our Retail Operations Team based out of our office in Mississauga, Ontario. Here’s where you’ll be focusing: Oversee Profit & Loss within department and division of responsibility and drive performance to meet targets Lead National Strategic programs & priorities with consistent follow up ​ Review Key Performance Indicators (sales, margin, shrink) and provide areas of wins and opportunity ​ Review Customer Experience results and look for ways to improve what customers are telling us Develop action plans and problem solve with Operations Leaders and Department Managers ​ Lead sales techniques and cost controls Collaborate with backstage teams and vendor partners to ensure programs are Store first & Customer focused​ Implement training program cascade to Stores and liaison with Learning & Development Contribute and communicate content for National industry leading display standards, freshness policy​ and labour standards Lead training sessions to communicate department information on a regular basis by driving employee engagement and customer experience in department programs Review compliance results including Integrated Health Management and Food Safety results Tools compliance and liaison with retail enablement team to improve store performance and customer experience​ Provide direction on Merchandising and provide layout plans for Grand Openings, seasonal programs & Multi Cultural priorities​ Design reviews of Department floor plans for renovations and new builds ​ Push Seasonal programs to ensure we capture customer impulse for key events​ What you have to offer: An Undergraduate Degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience Full knowledge of company policies and department procedures Customer focused Working knowledge of business processes tools Proficient in Microsoft Office Strong ability to communicate (oral and written) Ability to build strong relationships across functions Ability to plan and organize Ability to analyze financial data and problem solve Able to embrace change Ability to navigate within the organization and leverage organizational knowledge Process driven Who we are Sobeys is one of Canada’s leading grocery retailers, with more than 1,600 stores across all 10 provinces and banners including Sobeys, Safeway, IGA, Foodland, FreshCo, Thrifty Foods, and Lawtons Drug Stores.
