About the role

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work setting: Public event. Office building. Tasks: Administer revenues and expenditures. Determine requirements for hospitality services, signage, multi-media equipment, printing and other technical services, and arrange for and manage contracts for these services. Arrange for shipping, receiving and storage. Assist in budget preparation. Co-ordinate and monitor conference and meeting activities and attend to related details. Co-ordinate set-ups, staging, seating, parking, communication systems and other details for special events. Plan and arrange for trade shows and exhibits. Plan schedules, goals and objectives. Plan for required documentation and for pre- and post-distribution of documentation (itineraries, evaluations etc.). Prepare final financial and other reports. Provide clients with information. Invoice clients. Plan budgets and monitor revenues and expenses. Professionalism in customer service. Prepare price quotations. Enter client information in databases. Computer and technology knowledge: Database software. MS Excel. MS Outlook. MS Word. Oracle. Area of work experience: Conference and meeting planning companies. Conference centres. Convention centre. Multi-purpose facilities. Professional association or organization. Sports and entertainment facilities. Trade associations. Special events. Area of specialization: Trade fairs and exhibitions.
