About the role

Description JOB SUMMARY:expertise in the financial and technical review, evaluation and maintenance of the project documentation, project management tools and executive reports for their specific Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) projects, allowing for effective risk management. Performs analysis on and documentation of the project(s) initiated by the organization to provide validation to ensure organization-wide and departmental objectives are met. Supports VCH by ensuring the various internal and external partners involved maintain a supportive and mutually beneficial working relationship. Works in collaboration with both the project team and the end-user department(s) on capital and operational projects. Gathers information and evaluates interdependencies and their associated risk to the respective project(s) and to the organization through interaction with external consultants and the other health authorities.This work is framed within VCH’s commitments to our pillars of Indigenous Cultural Safety, Anti-Racism, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and Planetary Health.QUALIFICATIONS:Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration or in a field related to the specific project(s), supplemented by a minimum of three (3) years’ recent, related financial analysis and planning experience in a large, complex service organization or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Experience in three distinct areas must be exhibited: financial analysis, project planning/management and technical expertise relating to the specific project(s).ROLE SPECIFIC EXPERTISE:• Comprehensive technical expertise, project/process management, financial analytical skills and business acumen.• Effectively and accurately responds to the needs of partners and is acutely aware of the impact of decisions and actions on the organization and various partners.• Strong verbal and written communication as well as facilitation skills to work effectively in a team setting and with a variety of partners.• Develops and maintains strong relationships with key internal and external partners to promote and enhance services provided with sensitivity to diversity and indigenous lens.• Practices the recognition, inclusion and support of all types and aspects of diversity at all stages of engagement, with an understanding of the issues faced by people from equity-deserving groups.• Ability to identify issues, and to develop and analyze solutions to resolve problems.• Demonstrated knowledge of current advanced word processing, graphics presentation, and spreadsheet computer applications to prepare reports and presentations.• Results-oriented within a high-pressure working environment with numerous critical timelines.• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.SHARED VALUES:You care for everyone:• You are compassionate, empathetic, and sensitive to the needs of others.• You are respectful, treating people as equals, and valuing others’ perspectives and differences.• You are appreciative of others’ efforts and give them praise when it’s due.You are always learning:• You are open minded, always receptive to different perspectives and ways of doing things.• You are curious and ask questions to find a deeper understanding.• You share your expertise and mentor others by sharing your knowledge and experience.You strive for better results:• You are accountable, and take responsibility for what you say, what you do, and who you engage in achieving better results.• You are a solution finder, empowered to solve the challenges we face in healthcare.• You take ownership for growth and development and personal development, always seek feedback and opportunities to improve how we do things.The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
