As part of Ontario Health, the Lead, Emergency Services contributes their growing subject matter knowledge, experience, and insight to improving the quality of emergency care for Ontarians.
The Lead, Emergency Services will advise and actively collaborate with project teams, colleagues, and clinical and administrative partners to synthesize evidence, develop strategies, establish workplans, and produce materials for high priority projects. This position leads project/program workstreams and key deliverables to advance the delivery of key initiatives and optimize business functions across the portfolio.
The successful applicant should be able to work effectively as a part of a dedicated team and be passionate about supporting initiatives that improve the quality-of-care delivery in emergency care.
Here Is What You Will Be Doing
Leads and manages engagement with diverse groups of clinical providers, health system administrators, regional partners, funders, and other key partner to support the implementation of multi-year initiatives related to emergency medicine Collaborates with OH teams to ensure alignment with broader strategic OH initiatives in support of health system planning, performance measurement, and reporting Leads project/program workstreams and key deliverables to advance the delivery and quality of key initiatives Leads the development, implementation, and optimization of internal business processes Actively engages with subject matter experts to provide thought leadership and strategic advice Develops relationships with colleagues within the team, across the organization, and externally to understand best practices, risks/issues, and program needs Based on evidence and best practices, prepares reports, briefings, and presentations using excellent written, verbal, and graphical communication skills Demonstrates leadership and integrity in interactions with internal and external partners
Education And Experience
Here is what you will need to be successful:
Undergraduate degree in health sciences, health policy, health administration, or a related field of study (master's degree preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience 7+ years relevant work experience Experience developing, leading, and enabling health system strategy Experience developing best practice guidance, health policy, health system improvement initiatives, reports and/or evaluations Experience planning and implementing large scale, multi-year programs/projects in complex environments
Knowledge And Skills
Strong understanding of Ontario’s health care system and the public sector Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with demonstrated experience engaging and building relationships and alignment among diverse partners Proven ability to establish positive working relationships; must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work well with a broad network of teams, individuals, and partners Excellent problem recognition and critical thinking abilities to manage complex problems and inform OH leadership of potential/emerging risks/issues and associated solutions A novel thinker who enjoys generating and exploring innovative ideas and solutions Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy Demonstrated initiative and independence to take appropriate action and anticipate organizational needs Ability to seek and weigh opinions and evidence, compromising where necessary on ways and means but not on principles or goals Ability to lead and facilitate effective and productive meetings Capacity to work effectively in a rapid-pace work environment Ability to complete tasks, as assigned, in a timely manner with high-quality results
