Position Description
In support of SickKids 2030, the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) is seeking a dynamic Project Manager to join the SickKids AI Service. This service is responsible for driving corporate strategic projects and guiding the responsible deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) across the enterprise. The Project Manager will manage a pipeline of high impact AI and non-AI projects and play a pivotal role in scaling AI to support research, education, clinical care, and operational excellence. Working as part of an entrepreneurial team, this position offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of strategy and AI in a leading academic health sciences centre.
Here is What You'll Get to Do:
- Lead and support delivery of AI and enterprise strategic initiatives by working closely with executive sponsors, portfolio leaders, and project teams to plan, track, and operationalize priorities.
- Partner across the organization to define project priorities, requirements, interdependencies, and success metrics, ensuring alignment with SickKids' corporate strategy and AI Service objectives.
- Plan and facilitate strategy and AI project development activities, including stakeholder engagement, environmental scans, qualitative and quantitative analysis, and synthesis of insights to inform decision-making.
- Support governance, reporting, and decision-making by preparing updates, dashboards, and materials for senior leadership, steering committees, funders, and other governance bodies.
- Develop tools, analytics, and processes to track progress, risks, budgets, and outcomes across a portfolio of AI and strategic projects, enabling transparent and consistent reporting.
- Support business cases, funding requests, and grant proposals to advance strategic and AI enabled initiatives.
- Facilitate collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, fostering strong relationships with clinicians, researchers, educators, IT leaders, and external partners to drive adoption and integration of AI and other strategic initiatives.
- Support change, communication, and capability building, including the organization of workshops, training, and engagement activities related to AI and strategic priorities.
- Stay current on global paediatric academic health sciences trends, emerging technologies, and leading practices to inform strategy and project design.
Here is What You'll Need:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Health Sciences, Health Administration, Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Business Administration); Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in program or project management, preferably within healthcare, consulting, academic centres, health tech, or life sciences.
- Experience working with AI technologies, data science, and digital health initiatives is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
- Demonstrated understanding of AI concepts, tools, and applications in healthcare.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Financial acumen, with ability to identify revenue generating opportunities and novel business models
- Familiarity with governance, ethics, and regulatory considerations related to AI in healthcare.
- Proficiency with software programs for tracking metrics, projects planning, and budget projections.
