We are currently looking for two Mechanical Engineering Lead
As a Mechanical Engineering Lead, you will oversee the successful delivery of complex engineering programs, balancing leadership, customer engagement, and technical oversight. You’ll work closely with customers, suppliers, and internal experts to plan, execute, and deliver high-quality solutions – on time and on budget. Key responsibilities Engineering Leadership · Lead, mentor, and guide assigned engineering teams, setting priorities, ensuring accountability for deliverables, and fostering a positive, collaborative work environment. · Establish communication plans and meeting rhythms to drive performance, collaboration, and alignment. · Oversee the full engineering work scope to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery, while tracking, reporting, and managing out-of-scope items. · Prepare program inputs to resource planning, schedules, and budgets for review and approval by leadership.
Customer & Supplier Engagement · Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers and suppliers. · Define and confirm work scopes with customers, ensuring clarity and risk mitigation. · Manage supplier engagement, from quote requests through commitment to delivery. · Adapt solutions to customer requirements while balancing technical feasibility and program objectives. · Prepare and submit schedules for assigned program(s) based on defined resource planning, supplier(s) commitment and budget. Technical Oversight · Provide guidance and technical leadership to ensure quality and compliance of engineering deliverables. · Conduct surveys and on-site support at customer facilities when required. · Review, validate, and approve deliverables within the company’s work scope. Continuous Improvement and Mentoring · Document best practices and contribute to the development of engineering standards and processes, creating training materials as appropriate. · Mentor team members to build capability and strengthen expertise.
Key qualifications · University degree or acceptable combination of education and work experience in aerospace or mechanical engineering. · Minimum of ten years of engineering experience of which five years is in the aviation industry. · Experience in aircraft interiors, systems and certification is an asset. · Experience in managing teams would be an asset. · Proficient with CATIA V5 (Mechanical Design Workbench); experience in Generative Shape Design Workbench within CATIA V5 & 3DX PLM would be an asset. · Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. · Self-motivated, proactive, and able to guide both yourself and others (adaptability). · Bilingual (French & English). Job conditions · Fulltime · Onsite or Hybrid · Permanent or Contract · Travel: Occasional travel required (approximately 4–6 trips per year) Compensation and Benefits · Base salary: $100,000 to $130,000 CAD, depending on experience and qualifications · A comprehensive group insurance plan, fully paid by the employer · Paid Overtime · Paid time off: 3 weeks of vacation annually depending on experience · Sick leave: 5 paid sick days per yearunication skills
