<p>ABOUT US The Canadian Bar Association&#160;of British Columbia&#160;is the leading professional association for lawyers,&#160;judges&#160;and law students with 40,000 members nationally,&#160;and over&#160;8,000 in B.C.&#160;We connect our members to the people,&#160;knowledge&#160;and skills they need to successfully practice law.</p><p>Our work is expressed through community building, advocacy, learning and development, and professional initiatives that strengthen the legal profession.&#160;Learn more at&#160; cbabc.org .&#160; Come join our team of passionate and energetic individuals who are committed to serving our members and supporting our volunteers.</p><p>If you like a fast-paced environment and a variety of projects, this could be the place for you!&#160; POSITION OVERVIEW&#160; We are seeking a full-time, permanent Events Coordinator to&#160;provide&#160;planning,&#160;project&#160;management&#160;and on-site execution&#160;for&#160;a variety of significant community-building events&#160;such as&#160;dinners and receptions&#160;for groups&#160;ranging in&#160;size&#160;from&#160;50&#160;to&#160;400.&#160;&#160;The&#160;Events&#160;Coordinator&#160;provides similar&#160;support for conferences.&#160;&#160; Reporting to the Manager, Conferences &amp; Events, and&#160;working closely with Member Services, Marketing &amp; Communications and Finance, this is an ideal role for someone&#160;who can manage with precision and detail in a fast-paced, professional setting.</p><p>This is a hybrid position, with&#160;minimum 3 days per week on-site&#160;at our downtown Vancouver office.</p><p>Occasional evening and weekend work&#160;is&#160;required.&#160; KEY RESPONSIBILITIES&#160; Event Management&#160; Plan and execute events from end-to-end, including creating event briefs, workback plans, run-of-show, speaking notes, registration tracking, post-event evaluations, periodic status reports to stakeholders, and financial reconciliation.&#160;&#160; Own on-site execution from setup to teardown, managing risk and resolving issues in real time.&#160;&#160; Coordinate venues, catering, AV, speakers, volunteers,&#160;sponsors&#160;and external partner organizations.&#160; Ensure all meetings meet accessibility, inclusion, health &amp;&#160;safety&#160;and insurance requirements.&#160;&#160; Financial Management,&#160;Logistics, and Member Support&#160; Build detailed event budgets and track actuals against plan.&#160;&#160; Negotiate contracts with suppliers and venues&#160; Manage registration systems&#160;and&#160;attendee communications&#160; Prepares and distributes event&#160;notices,&#160;materials&#160;and surveys to registrants.&#160;&#160; Coordinate&#160;speaker and guest travel and accommodation, when&#160;required.&#160; EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS&#160; At least two years of experience in event planning or coordination, preferably within a professional association.&#160; Certificate in Event Management or related work experience.&#160;&#160; Solid understanding of office administration, budgeting, accounting&#160;principles&#160;and data management&#160; Advanced&#160;proficiency&#160;in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and database/registration systems&#160; Experience using and troubleshooting audio-visual equipment (e.g., projectors, audio mixers, microphones) is an asset&#160; Basic HTML knowledge is an asset&#160; Strong project management skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with volunteers and stakeholders&#160; Excellent customer service, including volunteer coordination and strong venue relationship management&#160; Highly organized, detail-oriented&#160;and able to prioritize effectively&#160; Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines&#160; Works both independently and collaboratively in team environments&#160; Adaptable,&#160;flexible&#160;and able to perform well under pressure&#160; Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and o
