Our client is a well-established Windsor-Essex tool and mold manufacturer with approximately 20+ years of success designing and building injection molds for automotive and industrial manufacturing customers.

The company is experiencing continued growth and has recently transitioned from an owner-led structure to a manager-led organization, creating an opportunity for a Design Manager to lead an established department and help shape its next phase of growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Design Supervisor, Lead Designer, Senior Mold Designer, Engineering Supervisor, or Technical Team Lead looking to take the next step into a broader leadership role.

Unlike many management positions, this is not a department that needs rebuilding. You'll inherit an experienced team, work alongside a respected senior technical leader, and have the opportunity to focus on leadership, organization, capacity planning, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do Lead and develop an established team of Lead, Senior, and Junior Designers Manage department workload, scheduling, capacity planning, and resource allocation Improve project visibility and help ensure projects are delivered on schedule Coordinate internal and outsourced design resources Coach and mentor team members while promoting accountability and professional growth Work closely with ownership and department leaders to improve processes and support continued growth Participate in management meetings and continuous improvement initiatives

What We're Looking For Leadership, supervisory, or technical team leadership experience Background in injection mold design, tooling, or a related manufacturing environment Strong organizational, communication, and people leadership skills Experience managing workload, priorities, scheduling, or department capacity Process-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset Ability to build relationships and develop high-performing teams

Preferred Experience Injection mold design Tool and mold manufacturing Design department leadership Project scheduling and capacity planning Gantt chart or project planning software
