Role Overview: As Associate Director (Corporate Partnerships) at Scouts Canada, this role plays a key part in securing the funding and sponsorships that power our programs, growth initiatives, and strategic priorities. By operationalizing partnership strategies and designing compelling cases for support, the Associate Director helps align corporate interests with Scouting’s mission, unlocking new revenue and displacing existing costs. They drive a robust funding pipeline, deliver persuasive pitches to potential sponsors, and ensure high-quality stewardship that fosters long-term, mutually beneficial relationships. With a strong focus on donor insights and sponsor motivations, the role contributes to smarter business planning and more impactful engagement across the organization. Responsible for delivering a net surplus, managing budgets, and reporting on project performance, the Associate Director is also a trusted deputy to the Director and a collaborative partner to volunteers, committees, and senior staff, ensuring Scouts Canada remains a credible, values-driven partner for businesses seeking to invest in young people’s futures. Duties and Responsibilities: Fundraising: · Corporate Partnerships: Operationalize strategies to secure funding (or displace already existing budgets) through corporate partnerships and/or sponsorships, which will support program delivery, growth and our strategic plan. · Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Reconciliation: Ensure all partnerships and sponsorships align with Scouts Canada’s commitments to diversity, equity, inclusion, and reconciliation. · Design: In collaboration with relevant colleagues, contribute to the evolution of Scouts Canada’s corporate partnerships strategy and long-term revenue growth model, which could include: o designing products/cases for support which maximize unrestricted income (or displacement of already budgeted activity) and support high-quality program, creation of new spaces for young people or ambitions within our strategic plan o Supporting the development and pricing of corporate partnership offerings (sponsorships, CSR initiatives, campaigns) · Pipeline: Develop and execute targeted prospecting strategies across priority sectors to build a sustainable pipeline of funding which, at any given time, demonstrates our ability to achieve annual targets. o Leverage CRM and analytics tools to inform strategy, optimize pipeline performance, and identify growth opportunities. · Cultivation and Solicitation: Secure access to business or sponsorship-oriented organizations, and deliver compelling pitches, increasing the likelihood of funding asks being successful. · Account Management: Coordinate partnership activation, ensuring delivery of sponsor benefits and ensuring excellent account management and a high-quality partner experience for new & existing funders, increasing the likelihood of repeat and increased support. · Evidence, Insights and User Needs: Collect and share evidence of sponsor motivations and feedback that leads to more effective business planning across the organization. o Monitor and report on key performance indicators, including pipeline health, conversion rates, and partner retention.

Finance and Revenue: · Finance: Effectively manage and report on <$1M team and project budgets. · Revenue: Generate an unrestricted net surplus, aligned to annual targets.

Leadership and Management: · Deputy Director: Deputize for the Director during absences, as needed. · Externality: Represent the organization to external stakeholders and agencies. · Leadership: Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the success of Scouts Canada’s work, including cross-functional collaboration across marketing, program delivery, and communications to execute partnership initiatives.. · Volunteers: Continuously improve partnerships between staff and volunteers. · Committees: Form excellent relationships with members of any relevant committees and provide clear and concise advice and guidance. · Project Management: Ensure all projects within the team align with our Project Management framework, taking personal accountability for addressing underperformance in scope, timeline, or Budget. · Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Job-Specific Competencies: · Relevant bachelor’s degree or combination of relevant education and experience. · CFRE certification is an asset · 3-5 years of experience with corporate sponsorship or philanthropy. · Provincial or National nonprofit experience considered an asset. · Ability to align funding opportunities with program goals, outcomes, and impact metrics. · Experience in developing compelling proposals that reflect the mission and measurable outcomes of youth-serving programs. · Proficiency in CRM systems (Raiser’s Edge preferred). · Proficient with Microsoft 365 and competent in learning additional software (e.g., Power BI, SmartSheets). · Relationship Builder: Ability to coach, mentor and support staff, volunteers, committees, and external stakeholders at all levels while quickly building trust, credibility, and strong working relationships. · Organized: Ability to coordinate, plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrates exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize activities and allocate resources effectively in a fast-paced environment. · Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to gather, synthesize and implement feedback from a wide range of internal and external stakeholders while balancing organizational priorities and partner needs. · Storytelling & Communication: Ability to craft compelling narratives, cases for support, sponsorship proposals, and presentations that clearly articulate organizational impact, partnership value, and alignment with corporate objectives. Skilled at tailoring messaging to diverse audiences and delivering persuasive pitches. · Negotiation & Influence: Strong negotiation, influencing, and relationship management skills with the ability to secure mutually beneficial partnership agreements, navigate complex stakeholder environments, and achieve organizational objectives while maintaining positive long-term relationships. · Contracting & Risk Awareness: Demonstrates sound judgement and awareness related to contracts, sponsorship agreements, brand usage, reputational considerations, and organizational risk. Able to identify issues requiring legal, financial, or leadership review and collaborate appropriately with internal partners. · Brand Alignment & Reputational Management: Ability to assess potential partnerships for strategic and reputational alignment with Scouts Canada’s mission, values, policies, and public image. Ensures partnerships reflect organizational priorities and maintain trust with members, volunteers, funders, and the public. · Decision Quality: Makes sound decisions even in the absence of complete information and relies on a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, relevant factors and judgement. · Data Analysis: Monitors and analyzes internal and external giving trends, sponsor motivations, and sector developments. Keeps current with emerging fundraising practices, corporate social responsibility trends, and partnership models. · Manages Complexity: Asks the right questions to accurately analyze situations, acquires data from multiple and diverse sources when solving problems, uncovers root causes to difficult problems, and evaluates the risks, benefits, and trade-offs of potential solutions. · Travel: Must hold a valid Canadian driver’s license or have equivalent ability to travel.

Working Conditions: Clear PRC (Police Record Check) and VSS (Vulnerable Sector Check) are required before the start date. Mandatory training requirement Works remotely at home-based office. Regular working hours – some evening or weekend work may be required (< 5%) Some travel may be required depending on operational needs (< 5%)
