About the role
Reporting to the Manager, Community Development the position coordinates and monitors community development activities within the Region. Responsibilities include coordinating directly with the communities and Nunavut Government departments and assisting with planning, implementation, monitor and evaluate the programs and services under the authority of Hamlets. The position is the lead in coordinating Mayors Meetings in Region and liaising with Elections Nunavut who conduct Municipal Elections.

Department of Community Services The Department of Community Services (CS) in the Government of Nunavut provides essential community-facing services, ensuring accessibility, safety, and economic development across the territory. It oversees economic development, land use planning, consumer affairs, Service Nunavut, tourism and cultural industries, fisheries and sealing, recreation and sports, mining and petroleum, safety services, emergency management, and the Government Liaison Office (GLO). By supporting local businesses and responsible land development, CS fosters sustainable growth while protecting consumer rights and ensuring fair business practices. Safety services and emergency management help safeguard communities by coordinating responses to public safety concerns and natural disasters.
