Specifically, this position will primarily join a team of experienced professionals who enjoy working on projects in Nanaimo, Victoria and the Comox Valley/ Sample Projects this team celebrates are: Victoria - Fort Street Cycling Infrastructure Improvement Veterans Memorial Parkway Improvements Uptown Mobility Hub Comox Valley - Lazo Greenway Multi-Use Path | Comox Valley Regional District Nanaimo - Complete Street Design Guide / Metral Complete Street Terminal Avenue Improvements / Downtown Transit Exchange Village of Cumberland – Infrastructure related assignments Who you get to work with: Mike Elliott Cory Mudge Bain Konway Brad Ormiston About the Role Joining a small team where you don’t just feel like “you are a number” at work you balance fun, recreation and large impact in your own community by applying your expertise in: Perform engineering calculations, modelling, design, and drafting for municipal infrastructure projects, preparing technical deliverables, drawings, and exhibits using AutoCAD Civil 3D and ESRI (GIS). Prepare and review technical documentation, including reports, memos, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, contract documents, specifications, and tender packages. Coordinate with clients, utility providers, contractors, and internal teams to resolve technical issues, manage utility conflicts, and ensure projects remain aligned with scope, schedule, and budget objectives. Support project management activities by assisting with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, progress tracking, meeting coordination, and project documentation. Assist with tender administration, contract administration, site inspections, construction reviews, and on-site support during project execution and construction. Foster strong working relationships with clients, stakeholders, contractors, and colleagues while delivering responsive service, supporting team collaboration, and maintaining safe work practices in office and field environments. You are always looking to grow your expertise and have some or many years of experience supporting Municipal Infrastructure Projects in some of the following areas: Water & Wastewater Infrastructure (distribution and collection) Stormwater & Drainage Engineering (flood mitigation, LID, urban drainage design) Transportation & Roadway Infrastructure (roads, corridors, utility coordination) Land Development & Municipal Servicing (subdivisions, grading, utilities, approvals) Infrastructure Planning & Modelling (feasibility studies, system analysis, long-term planning) Construction Administration & Project Delivery (tendering, QA/QC, site oversight) You want a team. Ready to throw your name in? Your application should highlight for us: Why you are passionate about ISL and specifically working in the Courtenay BC. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering 5+ years of progressive experience working on municipal infrastructure projects in British Columbia. Experience in Transportation is highly desired. Experience in a consulting engineering environment is preferred. E.I.T who is pursuing P.Eng OR P.Eng with EGBC Proficiency with design software including AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoTURN, MS Office Suite, and related drafting or modelling tools. Depending on your experience level, the salary range (based on a 40-hour work week) is: $95,000 - $115,000 At ISL, we share an enthusiasm for community infrastructure.
