Role Description The Event Production Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Toronto, ON, responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of audio-visual event productions. Day-to-day tasks include managing project timelines, budgets, and logistics, as well as supervising technical crews and vendors to ensure events run smoothly from setup to teardown. This role coordinates with clients to understand their vision and requirements, translates them into detailed production plans, and ensures all technical elements—lighting, sound, video, and staging—are delivered to high standards. The Event Production Manager will conduct site visits, prepare production schedules, troubleshoot technical or logistical issues in real time, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders throughout the event lifecycle. The role also involves maintaining equipment standards, enforcing safety protocols, and contributing to continuous improvement of production processes and client experience. Qualifications Strong experience in event production management, including planning, scheduling, and on-site coordination of audio-visual events. Proficiency with modern AV technologies, including lighting, sound, video systems, and related production equipment. Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise technical teams, contractors, and vendors in fast-paced event environments. Excellent client-facing communication skills, with the ability to interpret client needs and translate them into actionable production plans. Solid organizational and time-management abilities, with a focus on detail, accuracy, and meeting deadlines under pressure. Experience managing event budgets, resources, and logistics, including equipment inventories and transportation. Knowledge of on-site safety standards and best practices for event setups, including risk assessment and compliance with local regulations. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and irregular hours as required by event schedules. Prior experience in corporate events, weddings, or luxury event environments is an asset. Post-secondary education in event management, audiovisual technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
