About the role
Do you care deeply about ideas, education, and helping young Canadians better understand economics and public policy?
Who we are:
We are Canada’s leading and most influential public policy think tank.
Headquartered in Vancouver, with offices across the country, we produce independent, peer-reviewed research on the government policies that shape Canadians’ lives – from taxation, health care, and education, to energy, the environment, aboriginal issues, and economic freedom. We are non-partisan – we don’t care what political party is in power, we care about the policies.
Our mission is simple: to improve the quality of life for Canadians, their families, and future generations by studying, measuring, and broadly communicating the effects of government policies, entrepreneurship, and choice on their well-being.
Our research is peer-reviewed and overseen by an Editorial Advisory Board of leading international scholars. The Fraser Institute adheres to rigorous standards of transparency. We make our methodology clear, our data sources public, and our findings replicable — so that our work can be examined, debated, and trusted.
If you care about evidence, ideas, and the future of Canada, you’ll fit right in.
Junior Coordinator, Education Programs
The Fraser Institute is seeking a Junior Coordinator to join our Education Programs team in Vancouver. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills. The successful candidate will be adaptable, mission-driven, and energized by meaningful work that directly impacts students, teachers, and future leaders across Canada. Occasional evenings, weekend, and travel commitments are required.
This is not a highly repetitive administrative role. Our team moves quickly, supports programs across the country, and regularly balances multiple projects and timelines at once. The right candidate will thrive in an environment that values initiative, professionalism, accountability, curiosity, and strong interpersonal skills.
Our Education Programs team delivers seminars, workshops, webinars, conferences, and learning opportunities for high school students, post-secondary students, teachers, and journalists across Canada. We believe Canadians benefit from understanding economics, incentives, trade-offs, and public policy. We are looking for someone who is excited by these ideas and eager to contribute to that mission.
Here’s what you’ll do: Support the coordination and execution of in-person and virtual education programs across Canada. Coordinate event logistics including travel, venues, catering, AV, materials, registration, and attendee communication. Support high school field trips, teacher workshops, conferences, webinars, and student engagement initiatives. Communicate professionally with students, teachers, speakers, vendors, discussion leaders, and institutional partners. Support program outreach, recruitment, and marketing efforts. Draft emails, event summaries, surveys, and follow-up communications. Maintain accurate program records, reporting, and data tracking. Support participant communication and internal program systems. Assist with student and alumni engagement initiatives. Take pride in ensuring programs and events run smoothly from beginning to end. Occasionally support evening or weekend programming and periodic travel.
About you: You are highly organized and detail oriented. You are dependable and follow through on commitments. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly. You communicate professionally and confidently with a wide range of people. You are willing to take initiative and solve problems rather than wait for direction on every task. You have a genuine interest in economics, public policy, education, and current affairs. You regularly follow developments in federal and provincial government policy and are curious about how government policy affects the lives of Canadians. You are naturally curious, enjoy learning new ideas, and are interested in engaging with different perspectives. You believe ideas matter and are motivated by the opportunity to help students and educators engage thoughtfully with important economic and public policy issues. You work well with others and contribute positively to team culture. You are comfortable managing multiple deadlines and balancing both large and small responsibilities. You are open to feedback and interested in continuous professional growth.
This role may not be the right fit for someone looking for highly repetitive work, a heavily prescribed day-to-day routine, or limited interpersonal interaction. Our programs are people-focused, deadline-driven, and collaborative.
Preferred Qualifications: Post-secondary education in Economics, Political Science, Business, Education, Communications, or a related field. 1-2 years experience in events, administration, customer service, student programming, hospitality, nonprofit work, or program coordination is considered an asset. Experience with Canva, Zoom Webinar, CRM systems, Campaign Monitor, or project coordination tools is also considered an asset.
Work Environment: This is a full-time hybrid role based in Vancouver. The office location is 4th floor, 1770 Burrard Street, Vancouver (Kitsilano area). Team members are expected to work in-office a minimum of three days per week, with additional in-office time required during event preparation periods, quarterly staff meetings, and select departmental meetings. Flexibility is important, particularly during busy program periods and event delivery weeks.
What we offer: The opportunity to contribute to programs that reach thousands of students and teachers across Canada each year. A collaborative, mission-driven team environment. Meaningful opportunities for growth and professional development. The chance to work alongside some of Canada's leading public policy researchers and educators. An attractive compensation package including extended health and dental benefits, fitness benefits, RRSP matching, and participation in the Fraser Institute bonus program.
How to apply: Please submit your resume and cover letter in a single PDF to the HR Generalist, at: careers@fraserinstitute.org, with the subject line “Education Programs Jr. Coordinator.” Application Deadline: Friday, July 10, 2026
Please note that we will be reviewing applications as they are received. While we thank all candidates for their interest, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
